Has anyone heard anything further?  Today being the 3rd - the trial was set for 10:30 am - that would have been almost 2 hours ago?

The last paragraph:

"Further, the court appointed the procedure for the proceedings: first the interrogation of witnesses, after questioning the defendant and, finally, the arguments of the parties. Schedule of hearings for the next month: April 24, 25, 14, 15, 16, 28, 29, 30 May 2018. The beginning is at 10:30."

A Hearing on the Case of Danish Believer in Orel

24 April 2018

On April 23, 2018, the charges against Danish Christian Dennis Christensen were announced in the court hearing. The defendant and his defenders expressed their attitude to this charge. The further order of proceeding is determined.

The hearing began at 10:40. Christensen thanked Judge Rudnev for the opportunity to get acquainted with all 12 volumes of the case, but specified that he was not allowed to see "with physical evidence" (audio and video recordings of operational observation, as well as with printed materials and personal records taken away from believers).

Prosecutor Fomin read out the charge. When asked if the charge was clear to him, Christensen explained that only part is clear. Many accusations are formulated so generally that he does not understand what exactly he is accused of.

Expressing his attitude towards the charge, lawyer Zhenkov said that the defense party intends to help the court to clearly delineate what should be considered the consequences of the liquidation of a particular legal entity, and what is the inviolable human right to freedom of religion. ( Attitude of the lawyer Viktor Zhenkov to the charge brought against Dennis Kristensen.) Advocate Bogdanov expressed his and lawyer Krasnikova attitude to the prosecution: by virtue of the provisions of Art. Art. 14 and 73 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Russian Federation, the subject of criminal proceedings can not be the evaluation of a person's deed, depending on his religion. The indictment does not contain the essence of the charge, the description of the places and time of the commission of the alleged criminal actions, methods, consequences and other significant circumstances, without which it is impossible to resolve the court verdict.

Further, the court appointed the procedure for the proceedings: first the interrogation of witnesses, after questioning the defendant and, finally, the arguments of the parties. Schedule of hearings for the next month: April 24, 25, 14, 15, 16, 28, 29, 30 May 2018. The beginning is at 10:30.

The photo of Brother Christensen in the article is quite telling as, not surprisingly, he's lost some weight. -_-

April 24, 2018. A Hearing on the Case of a Danish Believer in Orel

25 April 2018

On this day, in court on the case of Jehovah's Witness Dennis Christensen, accused of his religion, two prosecution witnesses were interviewed: an FSB officer and a woman who, from 2013 to 2015, attended the services of Jehovah's Witnesses.

An employee of the FSB said that in 2017 he was following the building on the street. Railway in the city of Orel. He shot on video, as Christensen in the yard friendly greeted people. However, what happened inside the building, he does not know. In addition, he once watched Christensen in a cafe, trying to record Christensen's conversation. He did not hear what the conversation was about, and I'm not sure if the sound was recorded. Finally, he participated in the search of the home of one family of believers. When asked by the lawyer why, contrary to the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the items he seized during the search were not listed and described, the witness replied that he was only an executor and acted under the direction of another employee.

A local woman invited as a witness told that she attended meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses from 2013 to December 6, 2015. The witness could not give any indication of Christensen's activities in the period after 2016, when the court liquidated the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The continuation of the hearing is scheduled for April 25, 2018.
