Recommended Posts

We have a huge fire in Northern ontario and there is a total fire ban in Northern and Eastern Ontario. We have had some rain but its nowhere near enough. Pretty crazy.

You can see the fire reports here.

Parry Sound Fire 33. I know that area well.

It is part of territory for Parry Sound - top end. Territory is a 100 miles long and 35 miles wide.

My uncle lived along French River area back till early 1970's when he died.

Had a RV on Henvey Indian Reserve, so did a late elder from that area.

Key River homes at the river mouth, could only be reached by river - boat in warmer weather or in winter by snow mobile,

although saw one guy with an air boat that came up the river ( just at side of Hwy 69 ) swung it around on the ice and flopped it neatly on a wharf.

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

More Canadian fires 🔥Wow!

https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/wildfires-2018-462-fires-burning-across-province

Firefighters are bracing for more hot weather and lightning storms as 462 wildfires burn across the province in all six fire zones.

“We are looking at significant fire activity from one corner of our province to the other,” said Kevin Skrepnek, chief fire information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service.

Skrepnek said Wednesday there were 44 new fires, most of which were sparked by lightning. Twenty-five of the 462 fires burning are considered wildfires of note, and 28,000 firefighters, including 100 out of province workers, are battling the fires. The number of fires is much higher than the 130 fires reported on the same date one year ago, said Skrepnek.

On Wednesday, there were 22 evacuation alerts issued across the province, and 18 evacuation orders.
