We all do stupid things, but.....

Recommended Posts

A shopkeeper in Belgium was able to foil a robbery by telling the thieves to come back at another time, with the lure of more in the kitty for them.  The police doubted whether anyone would be so dumb.....

The facility that I use to work for was required to participate in various security drills and one year the local police department hid several men on our wharf and used dogs to locate them. I told them I didn't think it was a valid test because the dogs were obviously trained to locate glazed doughnuts...

What is the origin of the pejorative idiom “You Doughnut”?

American English (You Donut)

In informal speech the phrase is used to highlight stupidity.

E.g. You Donut

  1. An individual whom is extremely stupid. Lacks intelligence and common sense.
  2. An idiot. A mild insult often used in the work places of southern England.
  3. Somebody who does something incredibly stupid. An idiot.

Well, it sort of fits this story, doesn't it?  😁
