Panettone French toast

Recommended Posts

My wife provided breakfast for an LDC Design meeting this morning. Besides making a sausage, eggs,  hashbrowns casserole and a bacon, eggs, hashbrowns casserole, she tried something new. She made a full pan of panettone French toast.

We took 4 loaves of panettone and sliced them like sandwich bread, then we made cream cheese and raspberry preserves sandwiches out of them. The sandwiches were cut into bite sized pieces and put in a hotel pan, then an egg mix was poured over it. The whole thing was then baked.

It tasted so sinfully good I was afraid to serve it at the Assembly Hall

I saw Panettone on a clearance aisle at Walmart just about a month ago. The sign said 90 percent off. I was all set to make Panettone French toast. (Italian/French?) The clearance price did not ring up so I decided to forego the pleasure. Your wife's sounds so good, I might watch for Panettone to come around again. Worth the wait.

Probably full of additives anyway Pauline ............homemade is always better and healthier. I must Google and get a recipe I have never had that but it does sound sinfully good. Speaking calorie wise of course.
