Easy Crown-look Molding

Old Guy

Recommended Posts

My wife wanted me to put up crown molding in a bathroom she was remodeling.  Here's what she said to do (and I did it)

buy some window/door molding and some vinyl cove molding.

Cut window molding to length mitering the corners and nail flat to the ceiling.

Do the same with the cove molding.

See the results in the attached photos.

Nice. I did something similar to that when I put in crown molding in my house. I used a wood base board that had a decorative edge and I attached it to the walls upside down. That made it much easier to install the crown molding.

We have standard 8ft ceilings but using the baseboard added a different look to the crown molding. I used a smaller baseboard and crown molding in my bathroom.
