Find solace in darkness

Recommended Posts

Recently, I discovered I like putting my emotions on paper. So my sister advised me to write poems, and capture vivid depictions of everything. Since then, i've been searching for how poems are written and the ones I've seen so far are amazing and beautiful. So I wrote a poem about what young people are facing in today's world, the challenges, the difficulties and how to view them.

'As evening shapes on the door,
I walk aimlessly wagging on the floor,
Ughh, 'I muttered a curse under my breath,
The door looked ancient with weird creaks as I pushed,
I glanced aloft and paused, gratified
To see the difference:
The place still and quiet, the air crisp and cool. I thought,
"There's solace everywhere"!
Then bitter truth stands before,
It reproaches me as I stood,
I dealt me silently,
Looking at the woman and her child.
I thought I had found my relief,
Perverse, I saw a graceless anarchy,
To darkness, gasped the woman with her baby, Her grimace was dark.
"Not if you look aloft," said I
My new philosophy dawned.

"Oh wait, look aloft"! I cried
I looked, and see. There, heaven's radiance sparkled,
A glimpse of hope for me. I chuckled'

This is my first poem, and i'd like to hear more poems from brothers and sisters. Pls share them

Into a cold dark room I walked

Into a room where no one talked

And stood beside an old gray man

Who silently sat and rocked

Who was he when he was a child

Had he laughed and played a while

Or like me... had he...

Always  found it hard to smile

I longed to take his wrinkled hand

I longed to hug this silent man

But he would not look up at me

So I walked away and let him be.

Brilliant! speaks alot about the despair of a troubled old man, or is he? And the curiosity of a child the poem depicts. Keep writing sister Nancy
