Key culprit of why its so bad with fires in Australia.

http://media.bom.gov.au/releases/727/summer-outlook-shows-warmer-and-drier-conditions-likely-to-continue-into-2020/

"The key culprit for our current and expected conditions is one of the strongest positive Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) events on record," Dr Watkins said.

"A positive IOD means we have cooler than average water pooling off Indonesia, and this means we see less rain-bearing weather systems, and warmer than average temperatures for large parts of the country.

"The positive IOD means we're also expecting a delayed onset for the northern monsoon, one of the key drivers for tropical rainfall during the summer months.

"At this stage we're expecting the onset of the northern monsoon by mid-summer, which should see the odds for closer to average rainfall increasing from January and into February."

Brazilian Amazon deforestation hits new record in May. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/brazilian-amazon-deforestation-hits-new-record-in-may-12831346

And the worst months have yet to come....

A total of 829 square kilometres (320 square miles) in the Brazilian Amazon, 14 times the area of Manhattan, was lost to deforestation in May, according to satellite data from Brazil's National Space Research Institute (INPE).

That was a 12-per cent increase from last year, and the worst May since record keeping began in August 2015.

Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon is now at more than 2,000 square kilometres so far this year, up 34 per cent from the same period last year.

Lewis, thanks for your due diligence on this subject.

Being part of the Pacific NW fires, suffering massive smoke, I can relate.

It really has me concerned when the arctic is involved. Wow, what could be released from those bogs😳

California is going to have a terrible fire season this year. Some of the reservoirs are the lowest they have been in over 30 years. The California Fire department is having a hard time hiring enough manpower, so, low water, low manpower, bad season.

Yeah its not going to be pretty. There is a potential water war brewing in the California/Oregon border because now the Klamath Basin water supply got shutdown by the government to protect its fish species. And now farmers are cut off from that water supply and are struggling to get their crops growing.

Wildfires caught on Satellite having weird behaviours in BC, they are called pyrocumulonimbus plumes, in another words the fires are creating a cloud that is causing lightning and igniting more fires.

Australia had this problem last year and also California also had the same thing, now it happened in BC.

People living in Lytton had to endure temperatures of 49.6C and then a wildfire tore through the town and now everything is burned down. Horrible.

I live 3 hours drive from Lytton. We have air quality warnings due to the wildfires.

Smoke blocked the sun over our farm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, causing our hay not to dry properly.

Same thing happened here last summer.

Smoking is hazardous to our hay operation's health.

Intense fire developing through Colorado also.

Colorado is under evacuation order as they are stating “levels of devastation not seen before” in Colorado.

Here is a close up view inside a chuck e cheese of wind blowing 100 mph and fire ravaging through the town.
