The plane was shot down by Iran, it’s on the news (shot down as a mistake)

At least they didn't keep on drawing it out and denying it, everyone was already fairly sure about this anyways

Personal note: I am loosing confidence in Boeing... plane 3 years "young" which is sad. Just too afraid to fly them in the near future.

I will opt for Airbus instead.

Perhaps it’s time to reduce flying ....? It could be a protection for us.

Also as you know all these news..... You Tube and all these talks shows presenting “viewpoints”

Confidence in  God's purpose is essential these days,  and during GT

😆

...absolute rubbish...

You made me laugh .... obediently swallowing my own medicine ....LOL

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

At least they admitted quickly. When in 1988 the Americans, after illegally entering Iranian waters, shot down Airbus A300 killing 290 people, they denied and finally announced that Iran should share the blame for that. All the crew member of the ship from which the missile was launched were welcomed as war heroes when they arrived back to the USA.

I’m going to have to look into this claim. I don’t recall any heroes welcome at all. But it was some time ago.   Okay that didn’t take long. Yep , it happened. Aparenrly whole the US warship was actively engaged in a battle with Iranian naval ships of some kind.

Note to self, flying in a war zone NOT a good idea.

In 1988 the US ship deicded to enter Iranian water (after a helicopter crew who returnerd on the ship claimed they were shot at by the Iraninas (there were warning fires as they illegally entered Iranian territorial waters), and what was in fact sunlight bouncing back from sea waves). There was no battle at all. Just one side execution attanged by overexcited bunch of men. It was all revealed just because there was a few journalists from BBC onboard and they caught all on tape. The US still have not admitted their legal responsibility. It was until 1996 untile some compenation was paid to those killed on the plane.

here is a good documentary:

Of coarse the real difference between then and now is the ubiquitous cell phone camera.

They had a team of BBC journalists onboard. That is the reason they were unable to hide it.

True. And the reality that almost instantly average people had uploaded videos from every angle made the cause of the more recent even immediately identifiable.

Wikipedia ( for what it’s worth) confirms the details of the 1988 event. A have a vague memory personally.  I don’t recall any “ heroes welcome”.  I do recall a lot of jokying about weather or not the ship was in Iranian waters ( it was) .

According to Wikipedia president Reagan apologized for the tragedy. The monetary settlement came much later ( as will the monetary settlement in the more current event).

Meanwhile the person that posted the video ( it has been reported ) has been arrested .  Ain’t Human rulership great!
