Wow, such a lovely combination. Just like the Vietnamese here in this country when they combined yam, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, carrots into a tasty soup for the soup kitchen.

My wife has been volunteering at the Assembly Hall food service during the current SKE class. The Assembly Hall provides the breakfast and snacks for the class, but congregations provide the lunch. After cooking and serving breakfast and snacks, the AH food service volunteers help the congregation volunteers serve lunch, then stay and clean up. It is a full 9-10 hour day for her. Generally, the congregations provide enough food that the AH food service volunteers are able to bring some home.

Yesterday the lunch was provided by a Haitian Creole congregation. Last night I had goat meat. :D

So tell me...What did you think of it?

I like it. When we get chicken, she eats the white meat, and I eat the dark meat. I like the stronger flavor, she doesn't.

The goat meat tasted like super dark meat. :D

Do you like it?

One of my bosses became allergic to beef so he started raising little brown goats for meat, delish.

I bought pork chops at my SIL meat sale at his store so I'm going to sear 2 chops then put in the crock pot with wild mushrooms, mushroom soup and heavy cream. When cooked I'll add mozzarella and jack, serve over wide noodle with buttered peas. That'll last me 3 dinners, gotta love leftovers!

I've never had goat meat. Living in the south when i was young, we,ve eaten frog legs, gator, turtle and then when we moved to OK a sister prepared horse meat for us.  I will try just about anything.  But I've never had goat. 🙂 Glad you liked it.

Dance. Even if there's no music.

What's that? A type of cheese?

Spoiler

https://www.delightedcooking.com/what-is-jack-cheese.htm

Jack cheese is an American cheese that is often referred to as Monterey Jack. Featuring a creamy texture and a mild flavor that is sometimes accentuated with herbs, this cheese is a versatile option for many different types of dishes.

I bet that is time consuming to cook.  It looks like it is

Yeah, finger licking indeed. And we typically eat it with our bare hands, washed of course. As to duration, the soup doesn't take too long to prepare,  maybe 45 minutes to an hour tops because you have to steam the meat first.

Well I would say maybe in the New World I'll try it but I have a feeling our diets will change drastically.

I'd say just add beer. 😁

A month before butchering our beef we'd give the steer a bottle of homemade beer each evening, that steer got drunk each night! But the meat was so sweet 😋

I'm off on another tangent. I don't know why but I got a craving for wide egg noodle. So 2 days ago I made meatball stroganoff over the noodle in my bitty crock pot- had 4 meals out of that.

Today I have in my crock 2 bone in pork chops seared, wild mushrooms, flour free cream sauce with sour cream over wide egg noodle. I'll get 4 meals out of that.

Next is local wild caught sockeye salmon, dill, butter, lemon cream sauce, wild mushroom over wide egg noodle.

I hope my addiction to wide egg noodle will be over soon 😃

A glass of Old Vine Zin, a variety of hard and soft cheeses, a variety of crackers, olives, grapes, apple slices and fig butter.

One of my favorite meals.
