Do you get excited over seeing celebrities in person?

The concept of getting excited about seeing a celebrity is interesting. In my opinion, actors are just people doing a job expressing someone else's words and emotions. We may have a tendency to think of the actor as being the character they portrayed when in real life they may have a completely different personality.

I always get a little bit underwhelmed, instead. They are so small and, well, normal in person. Some are kind, some not so much.

If I saw a reality show star like the Kardashians, or the real housewives of whatever (not that I'd even recognize them) or someone like Nikki Minaj or Cardi B, I'd be the opposite of excited, if anything.
If it would be a celebrity that I kinda like or find interesting, I'd absolutely be excited, but I'd hope not actually star struck, someone like Jon Favreau or maybe Christ Hemsworth

I bumped into Chris & Liam Hemsworth, in a supermarket here in Oz..no big deal..actually nice guys..down to earth.

They seem like it. I generally like celebrities that have a reputation for being nice people who aren't totally arrogant and full of themselves.

I have zero interest in celebrities. 

But I respect them for what they've achieved!

I agree..these two don’t appear to have let fame go to their heads. They were joking around and we just said a casual “hi”. Not sure if they act the same in America..but here they were at a holiday spot where no one really cares who they are.

No celebs in the NW, probably but there'll always be famous people.. David, Abel..Moses, etc.

 

Do you think that's how it's going to be forever? (a few very famous people on a global scale)

Do you think it'll be a nice thing to be globally famous in the NW?

will we have celebrities in the new world though? It seems like seeking celebrity status is akin to seeking fame and glory, and in the new system everyone will be, at least encouraged to be as humble as possible. I mean, if we live for an eternity than, it stands to reason that eventually everyone will know everyone, perhaps even at a close personal level.

Jehovah and Jesus both said that if a person is humble, then they may be exalted and glorified. So basically, Jehovah will give you public praise and recognition, because he wants to...He did so with Mordecai. It could happen again. But then you would have to be careful to not let it go to your head....why risk that temptation? and then be downgraded? LOL

 

If you are famous, you just become a bigger target...then everybody wants to know every detail of your life, and then the bad stuff comes out with the good. King David was recognized for many good things, and yet all his sins are also tied to him. So if you want to be famous, you will have to take the good with the bad.

If I met Chris Pratt in person, I'd want to tell him how commendable it is that he upholds to his Christian principles and tries not to get political, and try to give him a Witness if I could.

Honestly, before now, I believe I'll be excited, very excited in fact. Because the few Celebrities I love, I watch movies that feature them so much that they are like old friends. But now, I'll fight hard to act indifferent, because of a chanced realization. I chanced into a kpop site and something struck me... An actor/ musician named Sehun had 20 million followers ... I call them 20 million worshippers, because they idolize him and follow his every move. He has more worshipers than his creator Jehovah..( that was a scary thought). We ( Jw's) are less than 9 million. While a mere human has 20 million worshipers. ( some have more) Imagine that!! That shook me. I don't want to show interest in Celebrities anymore,  and I no longer read articles about my favorite celebs too, because they are rival gods. They are set up there to steal hearts from my father... So Its a big NO now for me. But if I have to witness to them, I have two I'll love witness to... @M.J I'm moving to your thread for that revelation ( smiling)
