Right and left are political positions but up and down seem to have escaped that particular nomenclature

Nomenclature is the tidy little system humans invent to pin names on things—plants, stars, diseases, even sandwiches—so we can pretend the world makes more sense than it really does

Boos are the sounds people make when they disapprove, like at a sports game when the referee makes a bad call, or at a play when the actor forgets his lines; a whole crowd of boos can feel heavier than silence.

Tall is the word for trees that stretch their crowns above rooftops, for buildings that scrape the sky, and for people who always seem to block your view at concerts no matter where you stand.
