Spine is commonly used to refer to the backbone however, spine actually refers to the entire structure of bones, muscles, nerves, and other tissues that extends from the base of the skull to the tailbone.

"DEM" can refer to several things depending on the context, most commonly a Digital Elevation Model, a term used in geography for a 3D representation of the Earth's surface.

Surfaced wood is a product of rough-sawn lumber being made ready for finished use while wood that is already dimensioned and smooth is reproportioned and any old finish is removed is called resurfaced.

Again, with deliberately distorting a word or its meaning to make a totally irrelevant sentence that shamefully flaunts the use of the last word so you can get in "the last word"

"More or less" is used to express a general idea rather than precise details and could be said to mean approximately, roughly, or almost, indicating that something is not exact but is close enough.
