Road-side sounds a little familiar even though I might never use that word; Americans appear to not like assumptions in the use of some of their words, take "horseback riding" for instance

Sorry, OT, but in my house it was "First one up is the best one dressed." I saved up and bought myself a pair of Wrangler jeans that both of my brothers could squeeze into. They fought me for them. My older brother slept n my jeans, so I couldn't get them in the early AM.

The United States of 'murica!! 😜😁😁. I didn't know if this still qualifies since I used the last three words instead of the last one 🤪. If not, then gutted.
