Earthquakes, if spoken figuratively, could mean global disruptions to the order of things, like the 2007-2009 financial crisis triggered by the sales of bundled high risk sub-prime mortgages.

Mortgages got knocked sideways during COVID, like a row of mailboxes after a runaway snowplow, and folks were left wondering if the Bank even remembered what the word "forgiveness" meant.

M. Homes and historical figures like librarian Henry A. Homes, neither of them lived in an islet.

"Known responses test" can refer to a few different concepts depending on the field, but it is often used as a type of validation test to verify that a person is functioning correctly and in clear mind by checking their answers against commonly known, correct facts.
