Letters Received at Kingdom Hall

Recommended Posts

Question on how other handle suspicious letters at Kingdom Hall.

We have received three letters from apostates so far this month. two of them looked like offical corespondance from another Congregation. Thought we were receiving a letter of introduction.

When opened you did not even need to read to know it was from an apostate. I will look at the greeting and salutation and will know from that to burn it. I am so disgusted with these people that tearing it up and throwing it away is not enough. I must burn them.

My question is how do you tell if it is one of those letters? Want to see if I can tell when received. One thing is the thickness of the letter. A letter of introduction is typically one page not seventreen.

It was suggested by a sister in my congregation and some others, when writing our letters to the public (not for Nov special WT) to add your contact information.  So it was suggested that I put in my letters a new email address.  Which I did make one up.  Well, not good during these last days, because like above you get strange questions and apostates.  I received a letter from an apostate two months ago, it was thin, they sent a nasty card.  That was torn and destroyed.  The email address is no longer available, because I removed it.  I got a racist DF'd person.  At first I did not notice, and replied with a scripture to answer their question.  But the next day, I opened the email there was a ranting and rage and so before i deleted it, I sent to my elder's and they strongly suggested remove your contact information.  At first the elders okay with the email or give your phone number out, but now things are getting out of hand, and so this had to stop.  So that email is no more.   I have a return P.O.B.  That should be plenty.

The direction is to use your home address. Youcan use the Kingdom Hall address with the elders approval.

That is what I was doing, you can tell in a sectence or two. Then I look at the last sentence. I do enjoy buring them however.

Like most junk mail - we just discard them  ...  that type of mail "comes with the territory"

Two of them looked offical. Kingdom Hall addresses. When I think about is, the letter would be addressed to the COBE or Secretary. Food for thought.

Thank you for your input.  The elders at my congregation told us not to use the Kingdom Hall address.  So am sharing my POB with those who do not want to use their real address.

That is why we are selecting certain friends to write the local officials. Want to keep it professional. i would love to see a letter from the branch to a federal government electred offical.

Probably pretty general and to the point.

Makes you wonder which of the GB sent the ones to Trump and Biden ...

To be certain what it really is, you would pretty well have to open it and read... at least the first couple of lines. If it's from an undesirable, just dump it. No need to burn it, as if that's going to pay them back for what they're doing. Apostates are never happy with how much damage they can do. They have to "burn" things. We don't need to stoop so low.
