Calling for greater efforts to promote a culture of tolerance and peace at all levels, the General Assembly adopted a resolution today inviting the Secretary‑General to convene a global conference aimed at advancing the United Nations Plan of Action to Safeguard Religious Sites, involving Governments, political figures, religious leaders, civil society and the media, among other stakeholders.

Eph. 3:20 “Now to the one who can, according to his power that is operating in us, do more than superabundantly beyond all the things we ask or conceive”

That is good.  We must not forget, it is Jehovah will put into their hearts to go after religion. Revelation 17:17

This is what came into my attention. The goal: obtain peace.

Eph. 3:20 “Now to the one who can, according to his power that is operating in us, do more than superabundantly beyond all the things we ask or conceive”

Here´s the resolution https://undocs.org/A/75/L.54

«.....Requests the United Nations Secretary-General to bring the present resolution to the attention of all Member States, organizations of the United Nations system, civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders, and decides to continue consideration of the question of promoting a culture of peace and tolerance to safeguard religious sites under the item entitled “Culture of peace”.»

Also the USA government explanation of it´s support: https://usun.usmission.gov/explanation-of-position-on-draft-resolution-a-75-l-54-promoting-a-culture-of-peace-and-tolerance-to-safeguard-religious-sites/

However, US is concerned about this resolution:

"(...)We continue to support the underlying premise of this resolution but are concerned about its many references to limits on or condemning speech and at times equating speech to acts of violence. Odious or offensive speech is not in itself a form of violence and describing it as such should not be used as a means to justify the suppression of speech or the exercise of the right to freedom of expression. Rather than seek restrictions to expression to deal with intolerance or hate speech, the United States advocates for robust protections for speech, as well as the enforcement of appropriate legal regimes that deal with discriminatory acts and hate crimes. (...)"

And who knows how they'll go about it.

For example in China, all religions have to conform to the "standards" of their government. For example, the churches of Christendom over there have been forced to insert extra verses into the Bible, making it say that Jesus commanded them to obey the Chinese president and Communist party (literally).

So, they may "approve of religions", for now, if they think they can control them or manipulate them. But eventually it may become too much trouble for them.

Oh the irony!

Revelation 18:9,10

And the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality with her and lived with her in shameless luxury will weep and beat themselves in grief over her when they see the smoke from her burning. 10 They will stand at a distance because of their fear of her torment and say: ‘Too bad, too bad, you great city, Babylon you strong city, because in one hour your judgment has arrived!’
