Cars are expensive?

We've mostly bought 2000-2010 cars/trucks for between $2,500-6,500. We've found Hyundai to be relatively cheaper and pretty reliable for our area. If you need a car, definitely pray about it, and be a little flexible. We feel Jehovah helped us find what we needed and could afford.

If I'm looking at ads like on OfferUp, I try to look for detailed ads and discern if people are honest and took care of the maintenance. If they did, mileage might be a lesser factor. Also, you can get a car checked by a mechanic before you buy it-it costs money but it can save money in the end.

I have a 2012 Nissan that I've driven for the past two years. Nothing wrong with it and 117k miles. I would like something a little newer with less miles but am not seeing much online right.

I was gonna wait until January to get real serious about looking, I hope all the cars haven't been bought as christmas gifts by then.

I drive a 2007 Nissan Titan pickup that has 345,000+ miles on it and I see no reason to put myself in debt for something newer when the one I have runs just fine.

Traded my truck today. Got a bit more than I expected. Decided to do 4 year lease with full maintenance package,  winter package and tow package. 2021 Escape SEL with 2.0 L engine. The 1.5 L wouldn't  do what I wanted and 2.0 L in SE hard to

come by. Still even with full package still 75 bucks month less than truck payment.

Oh and it is red not black like the truck. It is an upgrade.

I'm on my 3rd lease vehicle, only have 13,500 miles on a 2020 (allowed 10k/year) so at end of 3 years it will only have about 20 k, looks like I'll be buying it then keep it for awhile, until more of the EV's come out and get a little cheaper, maybe! I like the idea of driving new with a warranty, plus my dealer gives a life long powertrain warranty to the original owner, it's all the smaller things that can nickle/dime you - tires, battery, brakes although I did keep my 97 Pontiac Grand prix for 24 years with not much upkeep!
