At a loss with Apple Tablet Problem

For some insane reason my IPad Pro 11 will not charge. I’ve tried both chargers and the battery has died. 
 

At first I thought there goes my letter writing, my Field Service app, etc. But I was able to figure out what I needed by putting it on my phone.

Whew 😅!

 

But our techy 👨‍💻 brother’s worse nightmare will b texting for a visit soon I think

 

Any of you dear friends who use Apple products have any ideas

 

Both chargers and cords look ok

Take it to an Apple Store.

Try another USB adapter and cord if you have one , my wife had this issue with hers or like above, take it to a store.

I had that problem a few weeks ago. My husband cleaned the connection port and the end of the cord. Fixed it.  When we looked at the cord and port , it looked ok but decided to clean it anyway.  Been working fine since we cleaned it.

My wife and I have a total of 4 IOS devices (2 tablets and 2 phones).  When we installed covers on them, as they aged the leather got softer and began to sag a little around the charging port.  When we plugged the cables in, the leather cover prevented the cord from seating all the way down into the port.  It felt like it went in and it seemed snug but it didn't charge.  Changing the cables did not make any difference.  When I checked the cord's seating in the port I discovered the problem.  After that, we took special care to check the charging condition.  It costs nothing to look to be sure.

What did you use?

A little alcohol on a very small brush and some compressed air. Nor saying that's the proper way to do it, but that's what we used. Warning, Use at your own risk, don't what to be responsible for your device.

I guess I gave up too quickly after the tablet shut down yesterday. I thought I would give it another try this morning after checking over the cords. Plugged it in and tablet turned on. 😱 It’s now at 14% (doing a happy dance 💃) Course I did this after texting our dear brother that gladly helps out the congregation with stuff like this.

My MIL had the same problem with her older generation iPad.  I discovered it was the charger only, not the cord or cable.  I had a spare laying around and replaced it.  Been working ever since.

There is a problem with charging on my 2018 iPad Pro 11”. At one point I had great difficulty getting it to charge with any combination of cables/chargers.

 

Fortunately at that point Apple released the Magic Keyboard that I had been waiting for. It has it’s own pass-through charging port and this basically saved me from having to send off my iPad for repair.

 

Now the original iPad charging port works most of the time. I have noticed however that if I use a high-powered/fast charger the charging will start to become intermittent again, and I have to use the charging port on the keyboard again for a few days. (Until it ‘forgets’ the charger I just tried!)

My conclusion is that there is something wrong with the charging circuitry/code and it is telling my iPad that certain charging rates are not suitable, when in fact they are.

 

Unfortunately buying the Magic Keyboard is a very expensive possible solution to your problem. (Other keyboards don’t have the pass-through charging port.)
