I mention this about 5 years ago. Since we have new ones since then, they should know too

We all know there was a GT during the first century. Here was Josephus says what happened during that time. It is taken from War of the Jews, book 6, chpt 5, par. 3

1. A star resembling a sword which stood over the city.

2. A comet in the sky for a whole year.

3. A heifer was laid by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the mist of the temple (probably a deformed heifer I hope)

4. In the ninth hour of the night, a great light shone around the alter and the holy house that appeared to be bright as daytime and lasted for a half an hour.

5. The eastern gate of the temple in which it would take 20 men to shut, seemed to open of its own accord about the sixth hour of the night.

6. Before sun setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds.

7. On Pentecost as the priests going into the temple says that, the felt a quaking, and heard a great noise and after that, they heard a great noise as of a great multitude saying, " Let us move hence"

In all,  they were DOOMED!!!

Yes, Josephus made some mistakes, yet he does fill in a lot of gaps that the Bible does not mention. Plus, it is a strong possibility he was was an eyewitness of many of these that he mention. What he mentioned gives an indication that the Jews lost Jehovah's favor and protection because they rejected his son. Plus, that sword might be hanging over the temple too.

If such indication was relevant for us, it would be in the Bible.

Also, there is no temple now.

There is a lot of things that is not relevant to us and it will be like that trillions of years from now. I was quoting history. A matter of fact, if we stood on Mount 0lives at that time we would have seem most of the events that Josephus was talking about.

So this is a reminder of what? and how may it be helpful to new ones in the forum?

Personally I only believe the information in the bible.

It is reminder what I posted this a while ago. And many things posted on this site is not helpful either, yet it is posted. Regarding the Bible, these events happened after most of the Greek scriptures were written.
Yes, I believe what is written in the Bible too. Yet, if we do not believe there was a civil war in the USA in the 1860’s and it is not mention in the Bible then we have a problem.

I understand your point about history, but I really feel it is quite different with the bible.

I don't think it is adviceable to direct people especially new ones  to unverifiable and uninspired sources on scriptural matters.

The bible already contain the precise information Jehovah wants us to know to help us serve him faithfully which is why Paul encouraged Christians not to go beyond what is written-1 Cor 4:6

You point is well respected. The problem what I see, people or friends can take other parts of Josephus writings and take it as face value. But when it comes to something that they cannot comprehend, then  they say: "it is not in the Bible".   Just like music, when they first hear  different kind of music then it is the Devil's music. That is how the mind works.
