I have never experienced any more than a momentary tremor. It was uncomfortable enough.

I can only imagine the feeling of a longer tremor. and not even know what a strong quake feels like.

We sometimes illustrate that our lives experience EQ. Yes we can move forward, but much is damaged and lost. So grateful that Jehovah gives us the strength to move on and rebuild.

US President Donald Trump, who will be in the region Monday, said yesterday hostages are being retrieved “now” and thinks the ceasefire will hold because they’re all tired of fighting, and this really gives the whole Middle East - this is beyond Gaza. Gaza is very important, but this is beyond Gaza. This is peace in the Middle East. And it is a beautiful thing,” he said.https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/israel-hamas-gaza-ceasefire-hostages-10-11-25

  • Hamas’s disarmament as part of US president Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza is “out of the question”, a Hamas official told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Saturday. “The proposed weapons handover is out of the question and not negotiable,” the official said. The US president has indicated the issue of Hamas surrendering its weapons would be addressed in the second phase of the peace plan.

Hamas officials are seeking to assert their control over key parts of Gaza as the Israel Defence Forces withdraw from the devastated war zone, with the BBC reporting that 7000 fighters are being recalled to the territory.

The mobilisation of thousands of Hamas fighters challenges a central feature of Trump’s peace plan, which says the group should disarm and have no role in the governance of Gaza.https://www.smh.com.au/world/middle-east/hamas-hostage-release-is-on-track-but-its-fighters-mobilise-in-gaza-20251012-p5n1ta.html

It's very interesting what will happen after Monday or Tuesday when "peace celebrations" are over but Hamas is still there and armed. Not willing to give up weapons and governance of Gaza...:whistling:

Hamas: Hamas is an Islamist movement. (apart from political and militant movement)
That means its ideology is rooted in a specific interpretation of Islam.

Religious language and identity — Its founders based the movement on their interpretation of Islam.

Foundation in Sunni Islam

Hamas is a Sunni Islamist movement, drawing its inspiration from the Muslim Brotherhood (founded in Egypt in 1928).
The Muslim Brotherhood believes that:

  • Islam should guide not only personal life but also government, laws, and society.

  • Muslim communities should be united under religious principles.

  • Western secularism and Zionism (the movement for a Jewish state) are viewed as threats to this vision.

    The 1988 Hamas Charter

    Hamas’s original charter openly stated:

  • Its ultimate goal is to establish an Islamic state in all of historical Palestine.

  • It views the land as an Islamic waqf (a trust) that cannot be given up.

  • It frames the conflict with Israel not just as political or territorial but as a religious duty.

  • It uses religious language about jihad (which it interprets as armed struggle) to justify its actions against Israel.

That must have been scary. I'm glad you and your family are safe.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

Hamas stands ready to fight if war resumes in Gaza and rejects proposals to leave the territory under US President Donald Trump's peace plan, a senior official told AFP on Saturday.

Political bureau member Hossam Badran also predicted difficult negotiations ahead, suggesting the key question of disarmament could be a sticking point for the Palestinian militant group.

many parts of US President Donald Trump's proposal have still not been agreed, including Hamas's disarmament and plans for post-war governance.

Does Hamas intend to retain its weapons?

Hossam Badran: "It is important to note that Hamas's weapons are not the only ones. Today we are talking about weapons that are the weapons of the entire Palestinian people, and weapons in the Palestinian case are a natural thing and a part of history, the present, and the future.

Hossam Badran: "The second phase of negotiations requires a more complex discussion, and it is not as easy as the first phase. The second phase of the Trump plan, as it is clear from the points themselves, contains many complexities and difficulties. This requires negotiations, perhaps longer, but it also requires, before that, a Palestinian national dialogue to arrive at a Palestinian national answer."

Will Hamas leave the Gaza Strip?

Hossam Badran: "The Hamas leaders present in the Gaza Strip are present on their land, the land they have lived on for many years, among their families and people. Therefore, the normal situation is for them to remain there... We long for the day when we can return to the land from which we were banished and displaced. https://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/hamas-ready-to-fight-if-gaza-war-resumes-official-tells-afp/news-story/33b32551ccc024e7bfa9c202d66c82dc

Looks like second phase may bring complete flop. (They say peace where there is no peace)

Thank goodness we're not involved in any of that political drama. Its gonna happen, whichever way they choose to do it. Personally I choose to not be overly concerned. Jehovah’s GOT THIS!

But that said please don't misunderstand, I love any info that could pertain to the end of this system. One day it'll happen and I hope I'm here to see it.

Hoping for peace in this system is the greatest vanity; everything is vanity outside of God’s Kingdom.

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

Some students experienced panic attacks and anxiety. When an earthquake hit suddenly. There's adrenaline rush and flight/fight responses from the body   and Im glad I dont have high blood pressure or heart disease.

If all houses and buildings are made of wood, there's nothing to worry about.

Anyway, these things will be gone in the very near future.

Big Peace meeting in Egypt after the end of the Israel/Palestine war...

It’s the speed of it as well isn’t it! You look away for an hour and something else has happened!

Lots of things to sort out yet but I think we’re wise to keep an eye on it…. Although they will say peace when there is none
