I'm sure Br Splane approved of the switch. Perhaps we'll get an explanation in a future Update. Here's how I imagine Splane explaining it:

 

"Some of you may be wondering why I was replaced in this illustration of the GT. Well, let's start off by reminding everyone that these are just artist depictions of events that may take place. These illustrations are to help us to visualize that time-period, they are not meant to be prophetic. So why was my picture replaced?

 

Well, I like to imagine that during the GT I will try to get through a security checkpoint, but just when they are about to let me through, my fake mustache peels off my face. That's when they pull me from my vehicle and discover a banned WT inside the hollowed-out center of a baguette. Next thing I know I'm in heaven. And since I'm no longer around, the Nations are going to have to look for a different member of the GB - and that's Jodele.

 

Of course, I'm only joking. No one knows what the future holds. Perhaps I'll hide a WT inside of a croissant, instead. We'll just have to wait and see."
