I‘ve heard of travel nightmares with delays, cancellations and compensations this summer, but this one takes the cake… 😱

According to The Wrap, the Schear family’s flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles was overbooked when an airline employee asked them to have their 2-year-old son sit on their lap for the flight instead of in the seat he was occupying in his car seat. 

 

The Schears declined, saying that they had paid for the seat for their child. A Delta agent then threatened to remove them from the plane and said they would face jail time for a federal offense…

I think it’s over-worked, stressed out, anxiety ridden, yelled at and under-appreciated personnel. The actual boss of the woman working at our check-in airline counter back in June called in sick which was expected to be chaotic. This summer it’s  just been an airport/airline disaster for travellers and airport staff in general, causing way too much over-crowding, over-booking, luggage losses, and delayed or cancelled flights. Many are taking big hits.

Try taking your toddler on board without paying for his seat and see what reaction you get! It would be " he's going to sit on your lap? I don't think so!"

in France, toddler pay only 10% of the ticket because they generally don't use a seat
