We are in a "Holding Pattern"

We are in Daytona Beach..lost power 5am..lost water..(but had filled jugs ahead of time to flush toilet)..Winds average 40mph all night..styrofoam insulation from older trailer's roof in our MH park flying down the street! Waiting for winds to die down..especially gusts! Starting to frazzle my nerves! Ian forcasted to exit Florida over the launch pads of Cape Canaveral! Wow!

My sister has a place in Estero, it's a little retirement park. They are here at home at present, but she was in touch with her friends as long as possible. Some of the residents were going to stay, because" God will protect them". She was trying to convince them all to leave, but nope..They all did finally leave when a roof from one of the homes flew thru the window of another. At last count, my Sister lost her carport..They will go down soon to evaluate and see if they even want to rebuild.

Ooh @SUNRAYif you are in a mobile home you are at a whole other level of nerve frazzling! Hang in there and will have you in my prayers. My family are all OK so far.

Just got our power back on. I will leave the generator in place (no longer running) just in case we have to use it again. After the storm passes Jacksonville, I will put it away.

 

Our winds have died down and we are only getting drizzle - but, as the storm heads north, that could change as Ian heads north.
