Original songs

Recommended Posts

There are so many good songs to choose from! But I have to say that I love the songs made for the convention the most. Maybe it's all the time I spent preparing for them from the conventions that made me fall in love with them, but regardless. I love them and have most of them memorized!

I haven't been listening to the Original Songs as much as I used to when I was running car groups for hours at a time in the ministry (I do mostly SMPW now and rarely long days in local service :( ). If I don't listen in my car, I usually only hear a song once, when it's on the Broadcast.

However, I just started cruising through them this week in my car.  A couple of gems that are now favorites - how did I never really hear them before? Since pandemic, I just haven't really been into them... I must change that.

"Jehovah's Family" - a beautiful, jazzy tune. Gorgeous arrangement; I love a muted trumpet. ❤️ Something I'd love to sing myself. I listened to it five times in a row on my way home from work the other day!

"He Knows Us" - I love the choral at the end.. it's big and triumphant!

"To Whom Could I Go Away" - cool just because the tune reminds me of "Mad World" by Gary Jules :D https://youtu.be/4N3N1MlvVc4?si=7NIZBuRv1c-f_rIH

Older ones I've always liked:

"All I Can Give" - Bollywood awesomeness! :D

"You Will See" - is dreamy...

"My Only One" - but in Spanish "Mi Dulce Amor"... sublime

"Be Courageous and Strong" - groovy bossa nova style in a nice low voice that is my range to sing.

-  "I Keep Your Reminders" & "My Thanks to You" - also good singing songs for me.

"Please Be Convinced" - but in Portuguese

"Jehovah Welcomes You Home" - because reasons... 😢 I love that it's Jehovah - first person ❤️

"Let's Take the Leap" - it's a bop! 😉 "Your Word Endures Forever" is another one.

"Just Around the Corner" - the cheeriest resurrection song I've ever heard

"Imagine the Time" - ❤️

"Never Along" - :squeeze:

"To Whom Could I Go Away" - cool juste parce que la chanson me rappelle "Mad World" de Gary Jules :D https://youtu.be/4N3N1MlvVc4?si=7NIZBuRv1c-f_rIH

"My Only One" - mais en espagnol "Mi Dulce Amor"... sublime

"Be Courageous and Strong" - style bossa nova groovy dans une belle voix basse qui est ma gamme pour chanter.

- "I Keep Your Reminders" et "MyThanks to You" - aussi de bonnes chansons pour moi.

"Jamais le long" - :presser:

❤️❤️❤️Every single song makes me relive a specific moment in my life, written in stone, and whether happy or unhappy the memory remains stangely sweet tender and nostalgic. Is this the mystery that surrounds music and its emotional scope or are those beautiful songs a creation of Jehovah, a gift so that these last terrible days remain bearable at the level of our heart and our mind?
