Horrible Traffic Accident-Speeding Driver

Recommended Posts

This is really sad. That someone had to be in such a hurry to pass an ambulance running codered (lights & siren and cause an accident. Fortunately, the innocent people were not the ones killed. This happened just bout 60 miles SW of where I live.

We see a lot of people driving like idiots.

WELLS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - One person is dead and two are seriously injured after a driver attempted to pass an ambulance that had its lights and sirens on, causing a crash Monday afternoon in Wells Township.

According to the Michigan State Police, troopers from the Gladstone Post responded to the area of US-2/US-41 near E & K Auto Repair in Wells Township at around 3:50 p.m. Monday for a report of a crash involving two pickup trucks.

Troopers learned the crash occurred when a Chevrolet Silverado driving at a high rate of speed attempted to pass an ambulance with Rampart EMS that was heading west on US-2/41 with its emergency lights and sirens activated. The Silverado then struck a Dodge Ram parked on the shoulder of the roadway that was yielding for the emergency vehicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 35-year-old man from Escanaba, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash and were transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

A viewer contacted TV6 Tuesday morning and said the occupants of the Dodge Ram were a Delta County man and his 8-year-old granddaughter. The viewer said the 8-year-old girl is currently in the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital with contusions on her lungs and her grandfather is at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay with a broken sternum, lungs seeping air, and broken ribs. Troopers from the MSP Gladstone Post confirmed this information is accurate.

The MSP said the investigation remains ongoing. Reckless driving and failure to yield for an emergency vehicle are factors in the crash.

Driving like idiots? I believe the opposite and I cannot say this out in the open. I wonder how much pot they been smoking before they begin to drive? It is very dangerous while driving these days.

🤣 I was trying to be nice and it was very difficult.

Just driving the speed limit can get someone tailgating you…it happened to me.

Totally agree that it’s so dangerous.

Why on earth would you be wanting to overtake the ambulance when it is already has it lights and sirens? That is madness. Let alone the weather conditions looking at the video.

I at one time followed an ambulance that did have its lights and sirens on a major city road during peak time, but I stayed within a safe enough distance behind it as if I was being escorted by it. The ambulance was still within the speed limits as it was rushing to the hospital, but the ambulance created the break in the traffic and traffic signalling was green all the way which shaved off about 15 mins off my trip. I only went as far until the ambulance turned off the main road I was on, but it got me through the busiest traffic conjestion of the trip. I was still driving within the speed limit and had sufficient distance between me the ambulance, so I didn't break any laws, I just taken advantage of the situation of being behind the amubulance making it's way through the traffic.

My first thought was wondering what they were on but I would imagine that it would be something much harder and more potent than pot.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.
