Amino acids

Protein is not just protein. Every source contains an array of amino acids (string pictured). The diversity of an amino acid profile is the prime benefit of consuming protein. This is why relying on plant protein alone can be very difficult, as the amino acids from non-animal sources are limited.

I just did a 3 week dementia course for my CPD points as a nurse. I work specifically in aged care and am always wanting to learn ways to help my residents.
I work primarily in the dementia residential home.
One thing I learned was, people always say to keep your mind active by puzzles etc. But what helps slow the progress of some dementias is to do things differently. This forces you to wire new pathways in your brain. So if there is a cell death your used to getting to that "memory, or thought, or idea, or action" by going another route in your brain.
For example of you write with your right hand, try occasionally to write with your left. If you drive a certain way home from work everyday then go a different route.
The idea is to get out of patterns to create new pathways.

Anyway, that's what I found very interesting.

The next time I get lost driving home; I'll tell my wife I was taking a different route on purpose. :whistling:
