The Olympics said the performance was an “interpretation of the Greek God [of wine and festivity] Dionysus” to make “us aware of the absurdity of violence between human beings.”

But social media users felt that the group was making fun of Christianity and even French politicians denounced the show.

According to the Washington Post her disease, SPS (stiff person syndrome), will cause her to have seizures if she gets  over excited. She said she trained for her performance at the Olympics, she was paid close to $25M dollars to sing. She also had a team of doctors on standby.

I've heard about 2M euros.

$25 million? 
I'm afraid of heights and I sing like a mute crocodile but at this price, I too climb the Eiffel Tower and I cough up all my lungs  in the freezing rain. 

 

2 million euros is already huge for a single song, I will never understand this world and don't want to understand it.

Lots of pre-recorded songs in my opinion. It is a security but the performance is then reduced.

So Ilona popped up on my IG and I saw her talk about how she has gotten nasty comments from random people about her size. There was video because some guy had commented about how she’s overweight so she discussed bmi and what that chart does and doesn’t tell you. 
Honestly wish there had been more emphasis on women building muscle and weight training when I was growing up. Instead we got the “don’t look bulky” message.  The older we get the more valuable our muscle is. I’m working on building some.  That’s how my feed ended up popping her up. 
She is an Olympic rugby player. I didn’t even realize women’s rugby was a thing.

So first of all, I didn’t realize they did male/female relays. But this one had such a dramatic finish!!!!  I love when someone comes in from the back in a dramatic finish!
