Recommended Posts

"I never said she stole my money" Someone else said she stole my money.

"I never said she stole my money" someone else said she stole my money as well

"I never said she stole my money" you implied that she stole your money.

"I never said she stole my money" i said someone else stole my money

"I never said she stole my money" She didn't steal she borrowed.

"I never said she stole my money" She stole someone other persons money.

"I never said she stole my money "She stole your money.

Another linguistics fun fact:

As you may know, many languages put nouns into categories. In French for example you have two different genders: male and female masculine and feminine. In German you have male, female masculine, feminine and neutral. Now for linguistic reasons that I don't want to explain in detail, languages can have a lot more categories that don't necessarily translate into genders. Swaheli for example has 21 different categories for nouns. Dyirbal is an indigenous language spoken by merely 5 people in northeastern Australia. They have four categories for nouns. One category for example applies to all edible things like vegetables and fruit. And here's the interesting part, while men fall into one category with most animals and in general animate things, women do not fall into this category. In fact, women are in one category with fire, earthquakes and venomous snakes. This fact inspired the title of linguist George Lakoff's book "Women, Fire and Dangerous Things".

Modesty is not something we can simply define in a way that suits us.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."
