Are these brothers still alive?

Recommended Posts

Thank you very much for your kind feedback @Friend of Peace.

Andy Steen is supposedly the brother who acted as Timothy's Greek father in the movie Pursue Goals that Honor God.

He was also in the YPA: What Will I Do With My Life? drama. He is shown training a shy young teenage brother in the ministry and assisting him on a return visit as he skilfully explains how we arrive at 1914 as the beginning of the last days.

There is also a picture of him on page 176 of the Bearing Thorough Witness book with the caption: "Following Jesus requires a self-sacrificing spirit." I can't share the image here but he is the brother in a cream suit about to knock on the door while the other brother fumbles looking at his watch.

Maybe I got the name wrong. I always thought that brother was Andy Steen who gave the famous talk A Day In The Life Of A Leper.

Did anyone hear if brother Cauthon passed away?

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

Oh no, not James Cauthon! Would be good if we could get a life story or an obituary for those dear brothers who serve as helpers to the governing body. I'm certain we may have Brother Cauthon's life story in a future magazine.

Also been a while we heard from Robert Luccioni aka Bobby Looch.

I heard from a bro and sis in my cong that he has passed away. I trust them lots and I know they have lots of contacts from their travels. Very sad news

I saw someone post something on IG which is why I asked. I was looking for someone else who had heard.
Look forward to his talks in the New system!  He was one of my faves!

Yes, he will be deeply missed his family, friends, the Bethel family and all those whom he taught at Gilead. We’re blessed to have so many of his talks on the broadcasting that we can enjoy and listen to.

One brother who works in the laundry mentioned to me that he would help the brothers in laundry load in the dirty clothes if he passed by early morning. Love in action.

I think Jesus would have done the same as Brother Cauthon.

Yes, he did last week.  Didn't want to post in view of not being sure.  Want to be careful about posting ANY information about HQs.

Nononononononooooooo..... !!! 🥺😢😭😭😭

Bro Cauthon's talks are my very favorite of any of the Gilead speakers. I've been missing him for awhile, although I noticed his voice and manner seemed a bit weak, last time he spoke at a Graduation. 🥺

I am so very sorry to learn this. I'll look forward to his fine teaching again in the New World soon. And I'll listen to "Sympathetic Strings" in honor of this gentle and kindly brother 🤗🥺😌

Totally unrelated but I just got back from my midweek meeting about an hour and a half ago and we finally got the announcement that our first CO visit for 2025 is during the week of August 19. That's like 3 weeks after our convention which is August 1-3.

I'm wondering if any one else has ever had such a late first CO visit. Normally it would be sometime between February to April. So now I'm thinking: now that Brother Meros is coming for his first visit in late August, when will the second visit for 2025 be? Possibly in December or perhaps next year? How does that work? Or perhaps he only visits once a year because of the sheer distance and cost of travel, etc.

Ours is a small foreign language congregation of just over 30 publishers, so maybe it's peculiar.

To put it in perspective: he has to fly with his wife by airplane to visit us. And for our convention, we have to travel at least 10 hours from Port Harcourt in the south to Lekki Assembly Hall, Lagos in the West. So I guess the distance factor affects the frequency of his visits, perhaps?

I just watched Organizational Arrangements - Theocratic Schools.  Hearing Br Cauthon's voice brought back one of my favorite quotes of his.

From Greek philosopher Heraclitus ~  No man ever crossed the same river twice.  It's not the same river, and he's not the same man.

It's a philosophical statement about the nature of change and flux.  It would have had application to changing assignments and or privileges.

Was that from his talk on Gratitude?  He waxed poetic in that one….no two skies are the same, no two sunrises or sunsets. Every day is a gift, unique unto itself.

I did a search here using the name Heraclitus.  It was from the 2023 RC.

Interestingly,  Parale commented that Br. Nicholas Ahladis used the same quote in his 153 Gilead graduation talk, featured in the June 2023 broadcast.  Parale even provided a link to the transcript.
