Yes it does. If these companies are data mining - which all the billion dollar companies are - they're going to know us based off our cell phone use. They're monitoring our chats and texts...

Temu has been in the news a lot because it has specific problems with data mining. Some say it was designed primarily for that purpose.

All big companies data mine. It’s done through Google, Meta, Instagram, Yahoo, etc., If we want to avoid it, we’d literally have to go off grid.

no matter how attractive the merchandise is

I suppose as with so many things, the eye of the beholder determines the purpose. This topic appeared to be pointing out the distasteful capitalisation of opportunity displayed in the tacky merchandising of religious sentimentality. I included an example of how Temu is not quite so amazing as they are merely just another kid on the block of religious exploitation.

Maybe some see that as advertising, maybe others see it as exposing...................no offence intended.  😊

I figured Temu was copyright Infringing, but they’re doing the most.

What do you see in the image that you think is protected by copyright?

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

There's a few companies owned by some Jehovah's Witnesses where they design and sell JW paraphernalia like the picture I posted. Temu is known for taking people's creative designs and mass distributing them without the permission of the original creator. So I hope that answers your question.

While whoever posted on Temu with the apron may not have gotten permission from someone else who sells one that looks like it ... it may not actually be copyright infringement. According to some research:

It generally would not be copyright infringement for someone to create an apron with the same pattern as yours if they independently created the pattern. Copyright law protects the expression of an idea, not the idea itself. If someone independently creates a pattern similar to yours, it's not a violation of your copyright, according to copyright law websites. You can't copyright the concept of an apron or a specific pattern; you copyright the specific way you've drawn or created that pattern. If your pattern includes a trademarked logo or symbol, then selling items with that pattern could lead to trademark infringement. A simple change of the font or layout could negate any claim of copyright infringement.

Additionally, neither the word pioneer nor the name Jehovah can be copyrighted or trademarked.

"Let all things take place decently and by arrangement."

I would think that "lyrics" directly quoted from a copyrighted source may be a problem.

To think up a phrase or words that are different from the copyrighted publication would be no problem.

"there was Jehovah’s word for him, and it went on to say to him: “What is your business here, E·lijah?" To this (Elijah) he said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies"- 1 Kings 19:9, 10 Reference Bible

Ecclesiastes 7:21 "..., do not give your heart to all the words that people may speak," - Reference Bible
