Let us keep those in harm’s way in our prayers, asking Jehovah to watch over and protect them.
“For he will give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.” — Psalm 91:11 (NWT)
When natural events remind us of the frailty of human life, it’s an opportunity to think about the sure hope we have in Jehovah and the new world promised at Revelation 21:4.

We have a brother in our area from Jamaica. He has family there. He says the brothers are taking precautions, but the impact of this storm will affect them.

Winds of 175 mph and gusts of around 215 mph are forecast! We pray for our dear brothers and sisters, many of whom will be directly affected and will loose much. We nervously wait to hear the effect of this immense storm. Our brothers will notify us as soon as they know what damage has been caused, and what help is needed.

I am not yet wise, but I am on the long road that gets me there - Prov 9:10

The winds in the upper elevations a short distance from shore are expected to be well over 200 mph

About 250,000 people are already without power - much more expected within the next few hours

I feel the worst thing about this storm is how SLOW it's moving. Yes it's a monster with the wind and how high the category it is, but the fact that its moving like 5MPH, that means that buildings/structures are having to deal with heavy wind for way longer than needed, and the rain fall will cause tremendous flooding. I think Ryan Hall mentioned that it's going to change the whole landscape of Jamaica  (if that makes sense).

My husband has a coworker that has family in Jamaica, he doesn't seem to be worried from what my husband said, i really dont see how, i would be in constant worry/panic.

Careful, I will derail and jump conversations like i was a pole jumper in the Olympics. Reply with caution🥺🤣

I hope the friends get out of that area. No matter what, I hope everyone get out of that area.

I do too, but not everyone in that area has the money to catch a flight and leave the island. Just like with Katrina that devastated New Orleans, many people were affected because they couldn't leave.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.

From a brother with family in Jamaica:

Much devastation in Jamaica. Family and close friends survived ok but much property damage.

Some deaths reported but more may emerge and comms are restored.

Waiting to get reports about our brothers. Many in the west section of the island lost roofs and homes 😢

My Jamaican Bros.  We are praying for all of you out there.  We are glued to the tv and watching updates as they come in.   Trust in Jehovah, no matter what, no matter how it ends.   Support one another.  Pray fervently to our merciful God.

We are praying with you and waiting for news from you, the Branch and in any other reliable source we can get.
