Republican politics is killing churches

Republicans are killing churches in the United States

Many people are realizing that the brand of evangelical Protestantism that Republicans (and other politicians) follow bears no resemblance to what Jesus actually did or said, which is why so many people don't identify with a particular faith.

There may be another reason: churches are also the main form of community that Republicans (and the wealthy elite) haven't killed off yet. For the religious in the US, regular attendance to religious services leads to strong community bonds, people get to know one another, celebrate family milestones with one another, grieve with each other, and help each other when fallen on hard times.

They might wage war on unions and community groups, and literally any way that people congregate, while consistently promoting division. This is because a separated people who don't connect with each other (or see potential connections) are easier to control.

Politics tolerates religion right now because it's a useful tool. But it's getting easier to see how Jehovah will maneuver matters so that the beast attacks and destroys the harlot when she no longer serves her purpose.

And?

The assessment is pretty accurate. People have been more and more turned off by religion and the hypocritical way the Republican party members wrap themselves in God only drives that wedge deeper.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Yes, it is, but the point remains: evangelical Christianity in the US is coming under further scrutiny based on its involvement in politics and the politicians who claim to be Christian and yet act in a way that is diametrically opposed to Christ's teachings.

And even a lot of republican jesus-worshippers don’t go to church as they don’t believe in organized religion. They’d rather watch “Christian influencers” on tik tok

The Scriptures tell us to show respect for governments because they are permitted instruments for maintaining order, not because they are righteous or lasting. (Romans 13:1; 1 Peter 2:13, 14) Jehovah’s organization has consistently taught us not to analyze political parties or weigh in on whether one side is doing better or worse than another. We do not point fingers at Republicans or Democrats, left or right. Instead, we speak about the limits of all human governments by comparing them to God’s Kingdom—the only arrangement that can truly bring justice, peace, and relief. (Daniel 2:44; Psalm 146:3) That restraint is not silence born of fear, nor approval by default. It is neutrality—respectful, deliberate, and anchored in the understanding that no human system deserves our confidence or our commentary beyond what the Scriptures already say.

Here in Brazil, many people have abandoned the Christian religion to follow “Christian influencers” on TikTok.

These influencers teach that people do not need to go to church, because true Christians understand that God is not worshipped in a so-called “church building” or a “temple.”

They say you can have fellowship with Jesus wherever you are today. As the Bible says: “God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)

In this sense, the waters around Great Babylon will dry up. People will abandon temples and churches and will follow Christian influencers instead.

Lots of 'cultural Christians'/atheists nowadays. They will complain about people of other religions living in their countries and having lots of children yet they don't want children themselves (birth rate is falling, and not surprising when even 2 middle class incomes is barely enough anymore when you used to be able to live on just 1 working class wage for example!). No professionalism at work anymore - it's pretty shocking what people will say at work; swearing, NSFW jokes, borderline or completely racist comments, discussing politics, etc.

This is how Jehovah got me out of my employer when inactive and I quit for neutrality. Got a nice payout for trusting in him than a lawyers I was offered.

I agree with your comment.  It is hard not to have disdain for this government though.  We know what the ultimate result will be.  We see it at its worst and, that being so.....the end is so ever near.

Eventually, Jehovah's people will be affected one way or another and, Jehovah will bring a close to this system.

Trying to figure out how this will unravel is not of concern to us.  Unravel it will.  Jehovah has the measurements and outcome of this system in his hands.  We don't need to know the ends and outs.  The focus is the Kingdom.  Nothing else matters.
