Can you recommend a tablet?

Recommended Posts

Doufám, že se všichni máte hezky. Mám pro vás laskavost: mohli byste mi doporučit tablet, který bych si mohl koupit? Rád bych ho používal na přípravu a na psaní poznámek během konferencí a přednášek... Nic moc drahého, prosím. 😢

Moc děkuji.

I hope you are all doing well. I have a favor for you: could you recommend a tablet that I could buy? I would like to use it for preparation and for taking notes during conferences and lectures... Nothing too expensive, please. 😢

Thank you very much.

I don't know what kind of tech you have available where you live, but it appears you may not have Amazon natively in Czech. It's hard to recommend something specific without knowing what you have access to.
There are typically some good options in the $150 range. Unfortunately prices have been skyrocketing the past year. You'll find the best deals in used/refurbished.
Normally I would recommend something like the 8/11" Onn Core which are fairly stock Android, or the Samsung A9+/A11+. Lenovo has some good tablets too, I always loved their Chromebook Duet line.

It may be useful to check with others in your congregation, to see what they are using and how it works for them. I understand that Czech customers have used Amazon.de (Germany), which delivers to Czech addresses. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite. It is sold through Amazon and elsewhere for c. 8,400 Czech koruna, and has a good reputation for the use you talk about.

Ouch, it looks like that's around $400 USD.

The Samsung A series are the budget/lower tier devices, while the S series are the mainstream devices with more power. For the basic uses needed, newer A series devices should be more than enough, and are cheaper within that generation. The only benefit of the S series there is stylus support.

I know S6 Lites used to be $200, but they're a bit old now, they're on the S11 model currently. I got the A9+ for $150 around two years ago, which has reliable specs and a 90hz refresh screen which is helpful for reading/studying. The A11+ sold now for around $250 ($200 used) has barely any improvements and is in the same shell. At the moment in the US, used S6 Lite are around $125 and used A9+ are around $150 - I would prefer the a9+ or a11+ since they're newer for the battery & android updates.
