If you want be really paranoid think that if someone wants really to track you it doesn't matter you turn your gps off... you just need to have a gps antenna (and every smartphone has one) the phone can be turned off also and they can remotely access its features its position, etc...

and if you have a cheap phone like Miss Bea (you were laughing? ) they can stalk you too using cell towers triangulation!

Yes this is a mad world!

I have a kid and worry a lot about this things... he is 16 and I need to know where he is all the time (but I don't stalk him... although this could be one use for the gps on his phone)

When I leave him on school I don't take my eyes of him until I see him inside... And so on

But on the balance side we should live our lives without worrying to much...

There will be always a danger on the corner... I worry more of who can take our spirituality than our life...

I'm from the time where the first wireless phones started to appear at our homes... right from the beginning the bad guys started to hear peoples conversations just by parking outside with the car radio specially tuned!

and before that they would pick ones correspondence, open the envelope, read, close again and put back on the mail box

So, this is not just a smart era thing
