Over the last week or two, we've studied how the Church put the Bible under lock and key, when it wasn't destroying it outright. In 2008, this article came up in the news near here. http://www.thenational.ae/news/world/asia-pacific/catholic-dominance-intimidates-other-faiths#full I would especially draw attention to the second paragraph in the article: After hearing about how the bible was forbidden to anyone outside the Clergy in the Dark Ages, it struck me as amazing that this was happening in 2005; and probably still today. Funny, I was reading that the Verity Baptist Church (whose leader was upset that the gunman in Orlando "didn't finish the job" and kill everyone in the club") have been asked to leave the property by the property management company (they have the lease there till March 2017 but the company asked them to leave before then and waived the fees for breaking the lease). Somehow that led me to a yelp page on that church. I didn't bother reading any reviews because I knew what they were gonna say anyways but what I thought was interesting is there is a big "ad" right at the top of their Yelp page that says "Church Tax Exemption Laws cost the USA 71,000,000,000 - End the free Ride". I have no idea who the organization is behind this campaign. Anyone have any idea? I assume it's probably an atheist group. Just curious.

Thought this was a interesting trend, Catholic church is pretty worried about it too. I also thought it was interesting to note that in another article on this subject it mentioned how unhappy the Italian Gov't is with the churches "tax-exempt" status! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/18/europeans-de-baptize-church_n_1214256.html
