CHRISTMAS BAN: A primary school headmistress in England has forbidden students from talking about Christmas.

She argues that the festive season loses its meaning if it’s discussed too early and that the excitement distracts pupils. Although the ban only applies before the start of Advent, children who defy her rule will have cuts to their playtime privileges.

So, she didn't "ban" Christmas - just talking about it "too soon" - because she thinks Christmas is too important to ruin?

I think the story headline is VERY misleading

Yeah. Got my attention. Trying to think of an angle to use in the ministry may be a good talking point.

I have a gripe here in France where all religious symbols are banned in State Schools but every Christmas in the highschool where I teach there's a big fat Christmas tree in the foyer.  If it was a cross or any other symbol connected with religion someone would lose their job, but apparently Christmas has no connection to religion... pagan or otherwise.  Go figure.

They've had Xmas stuff in the shops since October here and Liberty's one of  the big beautiful shops in London started selling xmas stuff in September, so how can they stop kids talking about it when they start being bombarded with it by the commercial world so early. They will be calling it Eastermas soon as it will all blend together every day of the week chocolate eggs with chocolate Santas together! The commercial world is getting so greedy.
