Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Recommended Posts

I made these for a get together with about 50 from my cong.  They were a huge hit and were the first thing gone at the entire buffet table, so I thought I would share.   I also thought Jerry would love them.

1 Package of beef cocktail wieners

1 Package of Bacon (maple flavored best)

Brown Sugar (amount will be what you decide)

Toothpicks

Make sure Bacon is chilled in fridge for awhile before starting as it is easier to cut.

Take Bacon out of package (don't separate it) place on cutting board and cut it in to thirds

Take a piece of bacon and wrap around one cocktail wiener and put toothpick in to hold it.

Do this to all the bacon/wieners and then put on cookie sheet.  I use parchment paper on top of the cookie sheet for easy clean up.

Then spread as much or as little brown sugar all over the wieners.

Cook at 325 for about 40 min or til sugar is bubbly.

When I take these to people house, I take them out of oven, let them cool for a few minutes then put them in my slow cooker for transport.  Then at the gathering, I just plug the slow cooker in and leave it on warm.

You can easily double, triple this recipe.  I tripled it for this particular gathering, and I easily could have made more.

This recipe nickname is "Man Candy" lol.

Enjoy.

Oh my! My my my! I went to sleep thinking NO! WAY! But I awoke craving these little sweet wienies! The new picture looks dangerous but tasty so off we go to get the makings.
