is it me, or are the days speeding by?

Recommended Posts

I remember last week friday as if it were a few days ago. The majority of brothers and sisters i speak to, even relatives not in the truth feel the same, that the days are going by quickly. Is it because we are getting on in age of something else?.

Please someone, you will make my day if you say that it is Jehovah who is speeding things up!...but your thoughts please x.

Well, I do agree with you.  My days are flying by.  I believe in my situation it is just because I am so busy. In recent months, I have not been home much, I always have something to do.  There is my job, service, meetings, studying/prep for meetings/service, housework, errands, chauffeuring kids around to all their activities. My daughter also started pioneering Sep 1, and that is just another thing to help out with as we as a family are trying to get out more in the ministry to support her.  Also, my son informed he last night he is Aux Pioneering this month since we have our CO.  My husband is also busy with his job and his congregation duties, so often it's me just running the house and taking care of stuff.  It's hard to find time to just relax at home and do nothing.  Between my husband and I and our kids age 16 and 17, we have 4 active and busy people living here.  Just trying to find time for all 4 of us to be together is proving to be more and more difficult.

The older you get the faster they seem to go. Why, if you lived forever at some point a thousand years could go by like a day. :)

Edit: you'd have to live a VERY long time for that.

Yes, i guess being Jehovah's busy people with so much to do, that's why. It has always been said that keeping busy in the truth and responsibilities, makes time go faster.

Just wishing 2 Tim 3:1-5 included 'In the last days, when you see the days are hurrying by, know that the son of man is near'......nevermind :-).

I also believe that by keeping busy it gives you less time to dwell on the negativity or bad things that may be happening in your life.  The busier you are the less time you have to worry and stress over stuff.  Keep focusing on Jehovah and his kingdom blessings and keep busy telling others about his Kingdom really does help get you through life in Satan's world.

A brother gave a talk once where he said when you were little the days seemed long. They were so long you had to take a nap just to get through it. Then you get older and the days just fly past.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

The days really are speeding by! It seems like every minute we are attending a meeting or having something to do with the Friends. My Mom said it seems like the months are speeding by at record rate.

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be pleasing to you, O Jehovah, my Rock and my Redeemer."

When I was 9-12 days seemed too long to fill because I felt better, now that I'm 26 and my health is worse it seems like the days fly by because it takes me so long just to get something simple finished. I wonder if health decline could have something to do with it?

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

When you get older :wheelchair:, you don't sleep as well so you need many naps :snoring:  just to make it through the day. :yawning::tea:

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

Your perception of the length of a day is in inverse proportion to the length of your life's experience.

It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step :- Jer10:23.

Not a day goes by wherein the truth of this scripture is not reaffirmed
