JW.org makes an impact on Mormon's

Recommended Posts

I get an email from this website because of the way she cooks/preserves and homemaking stuff. But I just found out she's Mormon. (I generally don't look for what religion someone is!) And here she is telling about a movie they've made etc. But when I watched the 'trailer' the content isn't about what God is doing or even what he requires. What I got out of it is a bunch of emotional expressions about people and nothing about worship. Their attempts fall short of the excellence of JW.org and all that it includes. I guess they saw we are going big time on the Net so they had to make a movie.

WE ROCK!

EDIT: Removed link to false religious website

That's pretty much what Christendom is. Emotionalism. What you feel. Jesus loves you, God loves you. Touchy feely. Pass the plate.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Mormons have been ramping up their tv/online presence for quite a few years now, so much that even their missionaries primarily preach by social media instead of the traditional door to door work.

Of course they're missing the bigger picture, that you have to show personal interest to reach the heart, but in my experience meeting them at the door they've never been particularly interested in results, they seemed to be just going through the motions so they can go back home and get on with their life.

Interesting...They've pretty much stopped most of their door-to-door canvassing. Now they're trying to catch followers online. Guess we're close to being the only ones who follow Jesus' admonition at Matthew 24:14 :D

I found it interesting to compare some of the other religeous websites in preparation for the jw.org tract. They all have them.

The first thing you generally see is the link to the shop. This is the only place that you may find the bible. Money takes first place

You will also find links to someone's thoughts on something. With all the titles they use, they must be experts - ha ha.

On one site they had a positions vacant section. If you imagine such a section on the Jw.org website where you could apply to be a circuit overseer you can see how ridiculous this is.

In each case they promote the church and it's operations.

Our web site promotes Jehovah and his thoughts. It has no shop. Everything is free. Everything is top quality.

Hi brothers, isn't it a great privilege to be a part of Jehovah's congregation. Our new broadcast station shows how forward thinking the faithful and discreet slave are.

BUT, please brothers, the temptation to look at other websites from Babylon the Great needs to be dismissed as quickly as possible from our minds, even in the guise of gathering information.

Doing this is just as dangerous as reading their literature, like a pornographic site even a small glance leaves a lasting impression.

One of the reason they offer for moving to "social media" and away from door-to-door is that door-to-door is no longer effective .... hmmmmm ...... funny, it still works for us :)

I agree with you John, the website I was referring to is all about home food preservation. I never knew she was a Mormon until the subject came up about the video they're promoting. To go to false religious sites or look at their information is unthinkable for faithful worshipers of Jehovah, they have nothing of any import to offer. We have the truth, plain and simple.

Since coming from that religion I do not want to go back in any form or fashion.    How disgusting.      Just like every other institution that Satan is using to get people to focus on--other than Jehovah or HIS PURPOSE.    After all--It's NOT ABOUT US!    It is about Jehovah.   Cheryl  , as you know, they are so mislead- just like all the rest of Christendom.

Yes siree David. I'm familiar with LDS. I was connected, by the Small Business Administration, a with a business partner years ago because of her talents in the things that I didn't know how to do. In order to make a business work you have to have others around you that know more than you in other areas related to growing a business. I later learned she was LDS, it never occurred to me that it would matter, after all this was business and not personal. However it does matter. Her goals in life were vastly different than mine and it interfered with our business constantly. She was never a pushy person, actually very kind and patient. BUT her very life style was in direct opposition to mine. She frustrated me no end. Eventually we ended the business and cut all ties.

So I learned a very valuable lesson. Firstly, they are so deceived, they believe such odd things it's hard to fathom that any reasonable, intelligent person could be so gullible. Second, they don't know Jehovah. They know the name and say they respect it but it's only a surface respect. I consider it a privilege and an honor to be chosen by Jehovah so to know him and serve him.

And I think I'm done on this subject. I almost feel like I'm needing to defend my faith here. And I don't need to. Feel free to lock this topic if you wish.

I appreciate your comments sis and I know exactly how you feel! I was shocked when I found out one of my favorite violin artists/players is Mormon - you would never know it unless you read her profile.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had joined her website as well not knowing. She has some good ideas.

it was interesting at our convention. Bro Lett said they had stopped as it was not effective.

Makes you feel reassured when you see Jehovahs organization spining 300ks/hr.

All the videos that were used. Plus linkups to other towns..how awesome.
