Could anyone help me with reading guitar codes of "Sing to Jehovah"?

If there is already a topic about this, let me know. I couldn't find it.

What does it mean a small circle or plus mark next to code "C" or "E"?

For example, Song No,15, in simplified code edition, there is code "G" with a small circle.

Also, there is code "E" with a plus mark.

What are these mean?

I am looking for these codes in my codebook, but it doesn't help me.

I would be really happy if you tell me about this.

BTW, even using simplified code edition, playing these songs is not easy for me..

The + indicates an "augmented" chord - it will have a "sharped" fifth note

The C chord is C-E-G an augmented would be C-E-G#

The o indicates "diminished" - where the third and fifth are "flatted"

Again C is C-E-G and diminished would be C-Eþ-Gþ

Hope this helps

How many guitar players are on JW talk I wonder. I didn't find a designated area myself either. My wife and I were pondering the possibility of learning the guitar. I have been checking out the videos of Nate Savage at http://www.guitarlessonsforbeginners.com. And a http://www.guitarcenter.com/wishlists?giftlistId=gl17770067 for a starter guiter for us. It is inexpensive and seems to have good ratings for a starer guitar. We're still in the research phase at this point, we are pre-listening to Nate Savages videos to get an idea of the complexity of this proposed hobby for us. We also have some local brothers who are guitar players to tap for information as well.

Personal Greetings from Paul and Kathy Forgive me if I got long winded, there is just so much to share.

I have been looking at JW.org,  including the children's section for the music sheets for guitar that I thought sure I saw released in the past.  Does anyone know where they are located?  Or has anyone created any guitar sheets or even Tab sheets for any of the easier songs?

The songs in the songbook have the chord names above the music - these are the same chords that would be used for guitar.

They do not have the finger positions in our book but charts with the chord names and finger positions are available on the internet

Keep in mind that not all finger position charts will be the same. An example would be like the "G" chord. Some charts may indicate fingers 1,2 3 while others may indicate fingers 2,3,4. However, the same strings at the same frets will be shown.

Are they all minor chords?

"C" is a Major chord. (C-E-G)

The difference in a Major and a Minor chord is the "third" - it will be one note lower.

"C minor" has an "E flat"

I was doing to download the .epub and .pdf for Sing to Jehovah when I discovered that:

Sing to Jehovah--Sheet Music With Simplified Chords.pdf  is available.   It was bundled with the normal song book that I otherwise would not ever have need to download.  We have apps for that. This is undoubtedly where I had seen it before and forgotten where it was.   This is the sheet music I had been looking for.   I have yet to look at it, but will look to find a goal song that uses basic Guitar chords that an absolute novice can practice on and print a copy for my practice use.   I hope this helps others.

Another goal song would be to learn Greensleeves (love that tune, but  not wild about the lyrics).

Another Brother and I have been trying to learn 'Christian Dedication'.   We are concentrating on playing the notes as we find the "simplified" chords that they use are more way more complicated than the starter chords we have been learning.  Some of the "simplified" are not even in our chord books or chord apps we have.  Anyway, here are the tab sheets we made with Google sheets to practice off of.  I have also been trying to learn how to use the Guitar Pro Android app to create .gpx guitar tabs.... not working so far.

Wow, thank-you so much. We will study these and use them to help us learn the Kingdom songs. Since watching these Hopfully YouTube will show us others like these. Us guitar rookies here in Eugene, OR are thankful for pointing us to these. We have listened to the K. Melodies on YouTube before but not as instructional as these. Thank you again./p>
