I bought my husband a gift today..

Recommended Posts

I am having it delivered tomorrow.  I hope he does not think it is more for me than him.  I really was nervous purchasing it on the spur of the moment but it is somethoing we needed.  I don't know whether I should have consulted his opinion on the type but I did the best I could.

I bought a 60inch zero clearance Cub Cadet mower.  I bought the 4 year service plan for an additional 500.00.  Total  was $5000.00 but I am hoping it was a good deal.  Our tractor was just so hard to use.  We rented a zero clearance last summer for a day while the tractor was being serviced and Rick really liked how it preformed.  I used it to and had a great time on it but after it was said and done I had a horrible back ache from all the jumping up and down on it--the pasture is very uneven and lots of mole holes.  We have 5 acres that needs mowing about every 10 days and the grass is so high now it is embrassing.  Our neighbors keep their acreages all manicured but to be honest they are all mostly retired with plenty of time.

I'll post a picture later when our yard is done!

Thankful to be among friends everyday!

Too much $$ for me. I had to make that decision 2013. I checked prices on everything. My best of all times were diesel Kubota; but they are 7-10 grand now. I bought 2 before used & they lasted many years ( $400 & 1200.) Then I bought a used commercial 48" Cub Cadet ( $1000. half price of tag on it at pawn shop); used it 5 years; but had deck/bearing issues.   My last purchase was new 46" Poulan Pro. Got a good deal from owner/friend of hardware store in 2013 for $1775.   I mow & take care of almost 3 acres; with lots of trimming as mobile home park. Another br. here did buy the zero-turn Kubota ( new) for his acres. But, I don't have that $ in bank; as taxes, etc. is too much.  My wife & I would have consulted each other first; but that's us.  Hope he like his 'present'.

Wow...I hope he loves that you thought of something he really needs to maintain the property around your house.

Meanwhile. my less than a quarter acre could be cut with hand scissors (as my neighbor's grandmother often does!).

Come join our service group singers......♫ Grant us boldness we witness....help us overcome our fear. ♫
