Interesting facts on new X-Men character AZAZEL

Recommended Posts

There is a new character on the X Men first class movie called AZAZEL.

Sounds familar?.. It should, Azazel is mentioned in Leviticus chapter 16 as the 'scapegoat' the goat who after the high priest confessed the sins of the people sent this 'goat for azazel' away.

However in the new X men movie first class, Azazel is depicted as a 'demonic humanoid mutant from bible times'.

I was checking on the origin of this X men character from Marvel comics and this is what I found:

Azazel

Azazel

Publication information

Publisher Marvel Comics

First appearance Uncanny X-Men #428 (October 2003)

Created by Chuck Austen

Sean Phillips

In-story information

Alter ego Azazel

Species Demonic Non-Humanoid Mutant

Team affiliations Neyaphem

Notable aliases Satan, Beelzebub, Beliar, Gadreel

Abilities Teleportation

Energy blasts

Shapeshifting

Immortality

Telepathy

Master swordsman

Master of dark arts

Did you notice that among the aliases for Azazel is SATAN. Notice how team affiliation NEYAPHEM is similar to NEPHILIM in the bible.

Further digging you would be surprised to know how the X-Men got their start, the whole link to characters called CELESTALS and creatures called ETERNALS and DEVIANTS.

Its good to do research as Satan really is misleading the earth. As for me, I don't think I can in good conscience watch this new X- men first class movie.. You decide for yourself.

Thank you.. and you are welcome. :)

The way it goes now, I HAVE to do research on just about any movie I am considering watching.

That's what the world has come to now..Satan is intensifying his attacks and we have to step up to avoid being misled.

That is so true, but when I told some of the friends about your research, I was told that it is a conscience matter. After I read the first post I looked X men up on Wikipedia I was surprised at the amount of demonic influence that particular comic book had. Personally I'd rather not challenge my conscience.

But I have been told I'm just an old woman anyway so my conscience is different than young people.

we all get the same training from the bible, so when we make decisions they should stem from a bible trained conscience.

"love what jehovah love and hate what he hates" it's pretty simple to me anyway...it's not rocket science, I always ask myself:

what would jesus do? and then go from there.

Well I don't know whether its an 'old people thing' or a 'young person thing.

I myself am young-ish at the age of 46 (yes that's my display pic at 45). lol

I know some would always say its a conscience matter, but as someone who grew up reading and liking the X-Men comics and other comics too, I am finding out more and more how many of them have a semblance of the occult or straight out demonism.

A lot of those characters got their start through occult or demon inspired ways (think about Dr Strange, Thor)

The X-Men (remember the Uncanny X-Men) are no different, although I don't think the demonic influence was highlighted much then as it seems to be now. I certainly don't remember it being so.

As I said I did the research and anyone is invited to do the same. No one can tell another what to do when it comes to a conscience matter, not even the Faithful Slave does that, they present the information to us and we use our christian perceptive powers to distinguish.

I am just merely sharing what I found out with my brothers... :ok:

Well I for one appreciate your research. I also try to think of how it affects others if I watch a certain movie, for instance, my husband and I went to see the movie, I can't think of the name, about the blue people. At first I thought it was OK but thought some of the stuff was borderline bad. As I gave it more thought I wished I had never gone to see it.

The movie you refer to with the 'blue people' is Avatar, and yes I did mine on that too. There is a hindu diety with the same blue coloration and the word avatar has a meaning in hindu. Research it for yourself.

Btw, I didnt see the movie.. that was just my choice based on what I found out..

Until I saw this I had never heard of this guy...looked him up and found out why ...He was introduced in Oct 2003...my book stops @ 2000 after the second movie. :punk:

Although I always did like the blue elf though:sweat:

"Further digging you would be surprised to know how the X-Men got their start, the whole link to characters called CELESTALS and creatures called ETERNALS and DEVIANTS."

As far as dealing with the Celestials I think that story line was eventually shown to be a dream sequence....I can't find the actual link just yet,....(tu)

you're right it wasn't so much

The original concept of the storyline below

"The basic concept of the X-Men is that under a cloud of increasing anti-mutant sentiment, Professor Xavier created a haven at his Westchester mansion to train young mutants to use their powers for the benefit of humanity, and to prove mutants can be heroes.[2] Xavier recruited Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast and Marvel Girl, calling them "X-Men" because they possess special powers due to their possession of the "X-Gene," a gene which normal humans lack and which gives Mutants their abilities. Early on, however, the "X" in X-Men stood for "extra" power which normal humans lacked. It was also alluded to that mutations occurred as a result of radiation exposure."

Keep digging, the internet is a useful tool.

I didn't make up these facts. Its all there.

Sometimes you have a character appearing and it may seem innocent enough.

But where did it originate from, that's a point to consider.

Any character whose initial alias is SATAN, should send red flags for all of us even tho the character may have 'changed for the movie'

I like the concept of humans being able to do amazing and fantastic things, but when it borders on what is acceptable to Jehovah, then I have to look at it differently.

That's all I am saying..

.. Thanks for the welcome! I am having fun here..(tu)

I think it would be wise to keep this point in mind:

07/15/11 WT Page 12 Paragraph 7, "That is why, for example, Jehovah’s people are not given a list of films, books, and Internet sites to avoid. Because this world changes so fast, such a list would be outdated soon after it was made."

Recently at our WT, a sister mentioned a movie by title. Though it was obviously something a Christian wouldn't watch, the conductor referenced this article that we don't make lists and use our conscience.

Hope this contributes.

Thanks Bryan for the point. We don't make lists here either of movies ones can and can not see, but we will post information that is helpful to others in making decisions about which movies they will or won't see.

Some may even say that they won't go, but we don't tell anyone else they can't. Keep up the good research and warnings (both ways) they are much appreciated. :chinese:

I agree with this 1000%

..and if anyone was getting the impression that I was saying don't watch this movie look again at my initial post.

I said that I wasn't going to watch but that anyone else would have to decide for themselves

Glad to see though that the topic is causing discussion and even moving some to do their own research. (<img src=)'>

Anyway, any "super hero" theme is... linked to a biblical theme...

Superman is obvious... Matrix too.

Wait what did the matrix do ?

I have 2 small children, and I have seen that we have to be careful even with cartoons.

Some are full of witches and demons. My oldest son (6) was watching a movie, and it looked harmless, and then the character said that when we die our souls live forever. Others talk about destiny. We can never be too carful.

That is so true Mara, when my boys were little we had to take the TV out of the house because of the cartoons and westerns on Sat. I noticed a tremendous change in their behavior when we removed it. It also helped us to spend more time playing games etc. with the kids. I think it would be very difficult now because we are so used to getting the news and all every day but at the time I really enjoyed no TV. Of course that was almost 40 yrs ago and things are so different now.
