I hope I'm putting this in the right place. It came up on an official news site so .....

I thought their choice of banned names very interesting ... I mean, would anyone really name their child Satan?

I am Japanese, so I don't know anyone who named their child Satan.
But a couple tried to name "Akuma" which means "Devil" in Japanese.
It was reported very sensationally on TV, and their application was turned down.

I think there are weird people everywhere, though I cannot understand their mind.

Unfortunately yes, there are some really crazy people out there. One couple here recently tried to name their baby Adolf Hitler and they were denied.

I remember an old article from 2009 about a man who wanted to add Jahve to his first name in the municipality where I live.

He wasn't allowed to do so since others could be offended since it's the name of God in the bible.

He wasn't religious, he just thought it sounded nice:huh:
