Songs For Happy Dance Parties!

I think it's a good place to share music for dance parties with all us.

P.S. I will be in one dance party and I should choose music tracks. So, I will be thankful for your help!

What exactly will you be looking for?

 

Do you have any specific guidlines for a music choice? Like specific era or moral level?

 

It can be a little difficult to please everybody, most people for example love the song "Happy " by Pharell Williams and the song is harmless enough. A few may be stumbled by it because Pharrell Williams supports immoral lifestyles in other songs.

 

Justin Timberlake's "Dance" is a great pop-song to dance to but even that could stumble a few because he talks about "getting close"

 

"Get lucky" by Daft Punk is clearly about sex or sexual chemistry.

That's right. Nowadays music is at completely other level. I think it would be nice to put some tracks from 50's-90's maybe.

You might still want to consider your songs in respect to who's coming to your "party" some brothers find the "Twist" to be too sexy.. it's not easy to please everybody, though.

At my sister sister's wedding reception, the DJ played all kinds of music.  Not many were dancing, though.

 

The most fun I ever had dancing was when we all danced the Virginia Reel. 

You can play any peppy tune for this dance.  This video shows Scottish version:

 

This one shows Country version and is a bit more involved:

 

 

I would use the top version because it's quicker to learn and EVERYONE can dance to it.
