you made me go and find it in the library!

here is the article date, if someone is interested in reading it:

*** g77 6/22 p. 5 Discerning Judges Protect Minority Rights ***

That was a great article and refreshed my mind of all the hard work and how Jehovah blessed our efforts. Now as far as the old guy who patroled the outskirts of our building project. *** g77 6/22 p. 10 Discerning Judges Protect Minority Rights ***
"A neighbor who had been quite antagonistic came several times to visit and have coffee with the workers on the building. He apologized for having opposed the building of the hall. Especially did he appreciate being received in such a kindly manner, and he was pleased to note that no one bore any animosity. This former opposer was glad to obtain a Bible from a ninety-year-old worker on the site." He actually had a gun and threatened to shoot us if we came on his property!

They left that part out of the article as a kindness to the man. He actually showed up to the dedication. You had to have a ticket to get in. He did not. He walked in wearing bib overalls and when asked for his ticket, he said he did not need one. I was less than 10 feet when all this occured. A Brother said it was okay and let him in. He stayed for the whole program and had some cake with us that was made in the shape of what the Assembly Hall looked like back in 1977. The one thing I will always recall is Brother Glen How, full of zeal, kept talking about their was no stopping Jehovah's Conquering King, Jesus Christ! His life story is in the 4/22/2000 Awake!

I recall a little over 40 years ago when the Puyallup Assembly Hall in Washington State was trying to be built. The Brothers asked us to pray and petition Jehovah. The Assembly Hall being built was trying to be stopped by Pierce County officials. As soon as they walked into the courthouse and saw the docket for the day they knew what was going to happen. What did the court docket show?

Instead of writing out Jehovah's Witnesses V Pierce County, the person who wrote it out abbreviated it simply to : Jehovah V Pierce County. They'll never know how true that was! It will be the same in this case. Jehovah will provide the ultimate victory, we just need to provide faith and trust in him ( Proverbs 3:5,6).

I have fond memories of Puyallup Assembly Hall, almost drowned there back in 1981.  :D   Do they still have the on grounds campsites available for qualified brothers ?

I'm not sure I have not lived in the area for sometime now. It's been thru a complete remodel a few times. I know parking is a premium so they probably eliminated camping. I have been going to the Woodburn Assembly Hall for some time now. It was built a year or two before Puyallup. It was built the same time as the Brothers were buiding the Holt, Michigan was being built.

I think someone shoved him under the water.

That might be why the baptism pool leaked until the extensive remodel inthe early part of this century. Someone resisted too hard. :D

I can't recall the Brothers name, but this is the Brother who donated the land so the AH could be built! He was there every day it seemed working hard!!

Would that be Brother Heck? Hecks owned the land across the road. They had concrete pumping company.

During the last remodel he was deeply involved with the new sewer tie -in and underground work. I was the superintendent for Wednesdays on that remodel. I thought 'superintendent' was a strange name for a position on a theocratic project. I had been superintendent in heavy construction for years.

I was baptized in 1975 at the age of 16, in Elma, Washington. We had to go downstairs to the boiler-room, where they had a small tub filled with water (it looked like a horse trough). I had the priveledge of being baptized by my cousin, Jim Stone!

Beautiful area...was your baptism at the hotel Gregg ? Back then we had our assemblies at the high school auditoriums before the Puyallup Assembly hall was finished.

I am sorry but I want to say to everybody you NEED NOT to write You, Your etc.because you write in English, not in Russian. It's a rule of the Russian language. It's like you write Monday, January...but in Russian we write понедельник, январь.  I hope you understand. It's good you want to show respect but I am sure you can write what you would to your president.

That's why we should stick to the instructions given by governing body.

Thanks Victoria.

It was at Elma High School.

An update on the letter writing: for parcels to be delivered by courier service in Russia, the address should also have the recipient's telephone number. Anybody aware of this?

Yes Brother, this is standard procedure when sending express/international mailings. Established express courier services ask for this information if there is a problem with delivery (i.e. incomplete address, etc.)  If you are not comfortable using your personal telephone number, in the alternative does your Kingdom Hall have a number you can use? Or your work number?

Sorry, but I was asking about the recipient, not the sender

BlackSnow,

I never heard anything like that. Are you sure in what you just said? If it were the case I think brothers would instruct us To do so. Don't you think so? :) I think you either joking or you  just have a wrong information.

I think blacksnow was referring just to courier services, and perhaps this is why we have been asked to send it mail, to avoid complications. (Unless of course it's come through your congregation to do otherwise).
