My older brothers would listen to this group a lot , so they became a favorite of mine at a very young age when I first started taking an interest in music. Back when I could barely operate a record player.... lol

Those old songs bring back memories for me too. If you like them you might remember this one also, that was featured in the movie American Graffiti by the Del Vikings.

I kind of wonder if the Platters song, "Blue Moon" might have been the influence for the Beach Boys song"Barbara Ann," with all the B-bopping in both songs.

Sorry for the double post of the same song. I meant to post this:

Here’s a young artist from New Zealand. She recorded these songs when she was just 16. The first song has a really cool intro 😎

Team - Lorde

Please excuse the album title...

Royals - Lorde

There’s gonna be a lot of this going on during the great tribulation...

Please excuse the “herbs” parts. The constant “Oh oye!” In these songs gets annoying after all, but good music.

Guess who’s coming to dinner - Black Uhuru

Party next door - Black Uhuru

I noticed pages 1 & 2 aren’t loading slow anymore. I wonder if the mods did something to speed up the website.

Great song and a great band of musicians. One of the band members is our brother. An elder in my congregation was in the same congregation with him in Maine I believe.

Not positive but I think he plays one of the wind instruments.

Two of my favorite EJ songs

I like Rocket man and wanted to post it here but saw something inappropriate in the lyrics. I also wonder if the song is about getting high.

I’ve never heard anything about it meaning drug use, and I’ve listened to it since the day it came out. Of course I may be wrong. If it bothers you, best to avoid it.

I remember a song in the sixties “puff the magic dragon”....everyone believed it was about drug use. Then I seen an interview by the writer who said it had nothing to do with drugs. It was just a kids imaginary dragon story.

I absolutely love Evanescence. I posted some of their songs including this one on page 2, post 28. The version I posted sounds better :P

Without you - Mariah Carey

Live

I probably should have posted these first. This is the original by Badfinger. It was later covered by Harry Nilsson who did an awesome job. The song is sad considering that Badfinger members Pete Ham and Tom Evans both committed suicide.
