MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Wednesday that if the United States deploys intermediate-range missiles in Europe, Russia will have to target the nations that would host them.

The stern statement follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement over the weekend that he intends to opt out of a 1987 nuclear arms control pact over alleged Russian violations.

Putin said he hoped the United States wouldn’t follow up by positioning intermediate-range missiles in Europe. Such a move would be a repeat of a Cold War showdown in the 1980s, when the U.S. and the Soviet Union both deployed intermediate-range missiles on the continent, the Russian leader said.

It often annoys me how Germans, also brothers, think disaster preparedness is unncessary (despite the Slave and also the government recommending it) because nothing will ever happen in Germany.

Germany is one of the largest strategic partners of the USA on the European mainland. The USA even have a stockpile of tactical nuclear warheads stationed here.

If push came to shove, we would be one of the main targets of Russian operations.

Well, now...trouble is, the world is ripe with unrest. A shooting at a synagogue, bombs in the mail...

it permeates the world of mankind. Stay secure, and have peace. As we do now.

I was told the violence, etc is at the worst peak in all of mankind’s history. From a circuit assembly.

What is coming is coming. Stay close to Jehovah, his organization, and the congregation. One way or another, we will be okay.

(Brother, it’s hard for me to think about all the different countries in such a small geographical area)

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

Does Germany have storms, fires, earthquakes or any other natural disaster?

Has anyone ever been evacuated due to a hazardous waste release or spill?

Has there ever been any terrorist activity that has affected residential areas?

It sounds like the brothers in your area need to stop thinking that Disaster Preparedness only applies to Military activities.

Not to that extent.. not yet.

Actually, that was my thought. Nobody thinks there will ever be another war because "nukes and stuff". We are a generation who grew up "in the years of abundance" and never knew what hardship or austerities meant.

My father was a post-war child who spent the first years of his life living in a garden-shed foraging in the forests wearing shoes taped together with string. His mother came from a family that was rich and lost everything three times (1918, 1929, 1945). They both raised me to be happy with the things I have but to always expect to have to lose everything at any given moment. Therefore, I can not understand how anybody can be so naive, especially Jehovah's Witnesses.

But, to be frank, materialism and the reliance on the system are a major issue we have here in Germany. I suppose every individual facet of our brotherhood has different strengths and weaknesses.
