The CO called his final meeting

Recommended Posts

The CO called his final meeting with the elders & I asked him if it would be like Acts 20:37-38 where weeping broke out because they would be seeing Paul no more. “Well...if there is any crying, it won’t be for that reason,” he said. #DecadesAgo #AndyLaguna

I for one enjoy the variety that CO's bring to the Congregation.  One might be extremely humble, another might have awesome illustrations and another might have a contagious sense of humor or yet another might excel in all three qualities. What ever the case, sometimes I really hate to see one go.

Irony.. We just had a fill in CO who seems to have been all of those things. We just left the meeting and all of the elders said they didn't feel as if they had a stand in. The words of wisdom just seem to pour out of him..

You could not praise him.. Which meets your first thought :)

Our CO is from Denmark, and in my humble opinion - best teacher I ever seen in the truth.

He was a secular teacher before the truth, so this perhaps helped him to embrace teaching skills bit better.

We had a DO who read also an instructor at pioneer school.

He could has is all near to rolling on the floor with humour and the next absolutely serious with the point he was making.

Incredible balance of talent. Even now I can recall exactly what his teaching points were.

Beggars belief what Jesus was like!

Hi Tom

I know I'm slow   but...   your posts always bring up more questions than answers for me.. :bringiton:

Nah...it is not you, Alan, but me. I post too quickly, without context & sometimes what fits very well in one venue does not in another

Brother Laguna was a favorite of mine, though it might not seem so from the following experience:  On an endless street in 10 degree weather, (Fahrenheit) we worked the entire morning without a break. Only a few people answered their doors and they may as well not have because I was too chilled to say anything.

This would have been back around 1980. When I was single, I used to stick like glue to these guys. With one of them, I became chaffeur of his car in the afternoon running around on return visits.

This brother died a few years back in California. He must have been in his upper eighties, if not ninety.

Hi Tom.

We had our CO talk Sunday.. All about youths making good decisions early on in life. I think you did that my friend. God choice.

That cold weather though, you endured.. Glad I have a hot cup of coffee right now. :)
