When did you last see a Murmuration?

      With the global insect population in sharp decline I’ve now been paying attention to insect eating birds. It seems to me that it has been about 5 years since I last saw a murmuration. How about you??

Haven't seen starlings however have seen sparrows do similar - just not officially a murmuration.  By the way.

Never checked. Is that British starlings or the much bigger North American ones?

Still see starlings murmuration on a regular basis.

Like the ones that can carry a half of a coconut shell between them with a bit of string?

For me I think it’s been about 5 years. It used to be quite frequently.

I guess there could be something to be said that "what is good for the goose is not always good for the gander" ... 

 

It is not always "insect decline" that make changes in birds ...
