Thanks, but we’ll keep ‘mother’ & ‘father’: Putin rejects politically correct ‘parent #1 & #2’ titles

During a discussion on Russian national identity, President Vladimir Putin made sure to politely but firmly reject any notion of replacing traditional family structures with more “progressive” examples implemented in the West.

“You said the word ‘mother’ cannot be replaced. Turns out maybe it can: they’ve replaced it in some countries with ‘parent number one’ and ‘parent number two.’ I hope that never happens here,” Putin said on Friday at the meeting of the Council for Interethnic Relations, a Kremlin advisory body.

His remarks came in response to lawmaker Viktor Vodolatsky, who talked about efforts to cultivate a unifying identity among Russia’s youth without infringing on any other ethnic, religious or group identities. The words “mother” and “parent” are functionally the same, but carried a very different emotional weight, Vodolatsky argued, just like “motherland” and “country.”

Putin has an agenda to maintain power in Russia. He does this by unifying the Russian people against a perceived threat. “We do it this way”, “they do not”. We enter into this as well. We are “the others” who are different and not like Russians should be. We are enemies in the world view he’d like to push.

Yeah, but Jehovah created them male and female, and there is no such thing as a "gay marriage" even if it exists de jure in some countries. So the gender nonsense of the modern day and age of the first world nations is my "perceived threat" as well, and I'm glad when this madness is over. It's amazing how people will tolerate how this confuses children and destroys their development. 

 

What politically correct narrative of the liberal left has anything to do with our Kingdom message is beyond me. But like I keep saying, there is no discussion about gender issues where you don't feel the need to comment about it. Are you absolutely certain that you are not being severely manipulated in your thinking by the liberally minded media in Sweden?

 

A little off-topic, but I hate the term "politically correct" since it automatically implies that there is one way of seeing things, and this is the "correct" way, please adhere to these new, correct rules or you're "on the wrong side of history", which is an equally stupid expression.

Like I keep saying, I comment on many subjects. Regarding Putin, it is important to realise how he views the world, and what his goal is.

Are you absolutely certain that you yourself isn’t manipulated by whatever world view is popular where you live, and manipulated in your thinking by the media there?

Personally, I adhere to what the Bible says. I try not to be fooled by media if any persuasion.

Disagree. Completely irrelevant. His goals are as irrelevant as that of Duterte, Trump, Merkel, Macron or Trudeau.

Absolutely certain that I am being manipulated on a day by day basis. Sometimes I find it easier to resist the blunt manipulation attempts by the media. Sometimes I catch myself thinking man-made thoughts, and quickly act to realign my thinking. That's why I'm worried about you when I read your comments and feel like you are eager to defend that side of the issue. I feel that it fits the fact that you are living in Sweden, where the mindset is extremely permissive. And I shouldn't feel that way about you.

I really hope that is the case. The FDS warns repeatedly against being drawn intop the deep things of Satan and allowing the barrage of liberal propaganda to water down our view of Jehovah's clear standards. This particular issue certainly isn't the issue I have to contend with. I personally have other "construction sites" I need to work on. I pray that I am misunderstanding you. And if I am, then I am very, very sorry.

His goals are as relevant as anyone else’s. We need to look at every politician with a question in the back of our heads: What is driving him or her? This way we won’t fall for their rhetorics. Because we know what they want.

Don’t worry about me. I do not ‘defend’ any side in human politics, Your comments about Sweden shows that you don’t know anything about the current situation here. You might be thinking about Hollywood’s idea of Sweden in the 60s, or something? These days, any liberal permissiveness is taking the backseat to a large and growing extreme right wing movement.

As I said, whenever politicians speak, especially shrewd politicians such as Putin, we need to be careful. Putin knows how to manipulate people to get his will.

The “othering” is happening in all political entities, as you know, not just Russia. The blatantness of Russia’s propaganda of ‘otherness’ affecting our brothers and sisters in Russia is just one version of this manipulation by Satan. But this is his staple for political discord throughout all history, fomenting all the wars in history, and directly causing the persecutions of Christians (or any other group on the outer).

 

I think the OP’s post exposes Putin’s methodology quite starkly - in effect as a foil to what the West offers, he’s sticking to the “traditions”. It’s the Cold War redux, or as we accurately see it, the pushing of the KoN and KoS on an ideologically level.

 

For us, we are reminded to “stay awake” and not be sucked into any of their “unclean inspired expressions ... inspired by demons”. Rev 16:13-15. As for this quote from Putin, we obviously can see this clearly is not a genuine attempt by Putin to adhere to some wholesome and beneficial way of life. And at the same time, nothing “beneficial” said by any political entity is not also delivered with an agenda for their political survival and expediency. Obvious to us, but we can’t let our guard down due to our imperfection.
